It's All Good

Here's a layout about my granddaughter, Cadence, her Dad and friend, Bo. I was kind of surprised to see her fishing. She is such a girly girl! I like how she's holding the fish far out in front of her! I'm sure she didn't want to touch the fish.

This is for the My Scraps & More Got Talent Mini Challenge. You had to use the phrase It's All Good somewhere on you layout.

This also fits the Turtle Soup 6/9 Monday sketch challenge.

The background paper is Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi collection and the rest was all from my scrap pile. It makes me so happy to use up my scraps!

Father's Day Card

I'm a little late posting this card but I did get it in the mail on time to my son-in-law. I found this card here on Pinterest. I really liked the masculine feel and it can be used for just about any occasion.

Helicopter Tour

This is another entry for one of the Got Talent Challenges over at My Scraps & More. You had to do a Project Life type layout with 4-5 photos on one page.

I haven't been a big fan of Project Life and don't have any of their supplies so I had to kind of wing it but I really like how it turned out. This challenge has changed my opinion on Project Life and I will definitely will be doing more pages like this. I might even pick up some of their pocket pages! This will be such a big help in getting all our vacation photos scrapped!

Summer Card

Tomorrow is the official first day of summer but here in SW Florida it's been summer for quite a while now. I decided to make a summer time card and it just happened to fit several challenges.

First challenge is for Cards in Envy Fun in the Sun Challenge. You had to create a card about what you love to do in the summer. My favorite all time thing to do is go to the beach and play in the waves and go shelling. Lucky for me, there are tons of shells on Florida beaches.

Second challenge is for My Scraps & More Got Talent Challenge. You had to use a border punch and add a sentiment to a frame. They've got a fun Got Talent Challenge going on all summer long!

Third, but not least, is for Turtle Soup's Mini Crop Colors of Summer Challenge. You had to create a card or layout using your version of summer colors. To me summer colors are bright blues, greens, oranges and yellows.

Daddy's Girls

Today starts our monthly Mini Crop over at Turtle Soup. I have a challenge up that celebrates the fathers or men in our lives. My layout celebrates my son-in-law and his two daughters. He was in Iraq when his oldest was born and didn't get home to see her until two weeks after her birth. For his second daughter he was there through it all. He looked so proud holding his little baby girl.

All the papers are from Echo Park's Here & Now by Lori Whitlock collection. I've just about used up this collection and when it's all gone I'll miss working with it.

This also fits the 6/16 Got Talent challenge at My Scraps & More where you had to use at least 5 different bold patterned papers and a frame that wasn't around a photo. I thought these papers would be perfect for this challenge

I also used Sketch-N-Scrap's sketch #59 for this layout. I love their sketches!

Moments

I have a layout up today on the Scrapping Turtle Blog featuring some MME Now and Then Izzy stickers. These are a fun bunch of stickers to work with. While they have a bit of a nautical feel they can be used with just about any type of layout. However, I decided to use them with a photo of my two granddaughters at Rockport, Mass. It's a harbor shot so I was able to use the two anchors from the collection. I loved the colors from this collection; you could use just about any color combo with them.

Grid Layout

Here's a layout for my husbands retirement album. He retired four years ago and I am still not finished with his album. Hopefully it won't be too much longer...maybe in time for Christmas if I'm lucky! Anyway, this layout was done for another Got Talent challenge over at My Scraps & More. You had to have a grid of some sort on you page. I was able to use up a lot of my scraps from Simple Stories 24/seven collection.

Actually, everything I used on this page is from my scraps! That always makes me happy!

All About Me

Here's another layout I did for the My Scraps & More Got Talent challenge. You had to scrap a photo of yourself and journal about yourself. Usually this is so hard for me but I decided to try it anyway. You also had to use two different mediums in your background. I used my newest Heidi Swapp template and three different ink colors and I love how it turned out. I then added some stamps to the background also. When it came to the journaling, I expected it to take me all afternoon. But once I started it just all fell into place. I think I even feel better about where I am in my life right now.

New Beginning

Here's a layout I did for the My Scraps & More Got Talent challenge. You had to do a layout about a hard time in your life. I went with my father's passing. About two weeks after, we had a vacation planned and I really didn't want to go but everyone said it would probably help with my grief. I am so glad I listened to everyone, this was probably the best thing I could have done. We spent a week in Sedona, AZ enjoying the beauty, peace and quiet of the area. This photo was taken while I was sitting on a rock looking up at the canyon walls remembering all the good trips I'd taken with my father. I don't think he ever made it to Sedona, but he would have loved it as much as I did!

This also is for a challenge over at Turtle Soup where you had to use all scraps except for your background and leftover embellishments.

Cousins

It's Friday and that means it's time for another sketch reveal at My Scraps & More Sketches Blog. I have so much fun with the sketches there.

And here's the sketch we had to work with

I've been wanting to scrap this photo of my grandkids for a while now. I decided this sketch would be perfect for it. I didn't want to make this too girly or too boyish so I used both pink and blue for the colors. I tried a new technique (at least for me) around the corners of the page. I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder to make the zigzag lines. I used Core'dinations white washed paper, put it in the embossing folder and used my rolling pin to emboss it and then took some sandpaper to it. I love how it turned out. I saw this technique on the Turtle Soup June 3rd  TTT challenge and I'll also be entering this layout in that challenge.

Please come and join us at My Scraps & More for some fun sketches! Hope to see you there!

Birthday Card

Here's a little card I made today for my husband's birthday next week. I saw this color combo somewhere on line (can't remember where) and decided to give it a try. I love the teal and browns together and it was all made from scraps! Love using up my scraps!

This is also for a challenge over at My Scraps & More. They're having a summer long Got Talent challenge that sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun!

Sixth Birthday

Today we have our monthly Design Team reveal over at Turtle Soup. We are given a sketch to work with and it's always so much fun to see all the different takes on it.

And here's the sketch we had to work with

There were so many different colors in the photos that I just couldn't decide which color to focus on so I used pretty much all of them.

Please stop by Turtle Soup and see all the other design team members reveals. And please join us by posting your own take of our sketch! Hope to see you there!
