Snowman Card

Here's a card I made for the Cards In Envy newest challenge theme, Let It Snow. My new snowman stamp was perfect!

I stamped him and then fussy cut him out and colored him using watercolor pencils, Wink of Stella and Wink of Luna pens. Then embossed the white background with a snowflake embossing folder and added it to a red base card.
This also fits a challenge at the Turtle Soup mini crop where you had to use snowflakes on your project.

Money Holder

Here's a money holder card I made to hold the Christmas tip I give my hairdresser.  I made it big enough to even hold a giftcard.

This was quick and easy and I made it using only scraps. Love when that happens!
This also fits a challenge in the 12 Days of Christmas mini crop at Turtle Soup. We've got 12 challenges going on and you have until Dec 17th to enter. Please come join us!

Gift Card Holder

Here's a gift card holder I made the other day. It was so easy!

All I did was cut out 4 4" circles of double sided cardstock and fold them in half. Then just slid them around (this was the hardest part) until I could fold them up into a square. I made a belly band out of some burlap ribbon and added a bow.
This also fits a challenge in the 12 Days of Christmas mini crop at Turtle Soup.  Please stop by and check it out and maybe play along with us.

Frozen Birthday Card

Well, my youngest granddaughter is turning 5 soon and she wanted the castle playhouse from Frozen so, of course, I had to make a Frozen birthday card for her. Anna is her favorite character and I just love Olaf and since we share the same birthday I incorporated both characters.

I printed the images out and then fussy cut them. For the background I scribbled pink and blue gelatos and then wet it to blend them. There are also stars stamped and embossed with glitter embossing powder but you can't really see them here. I'm happy with how it came out since I'm scrapping with limited supplies while waiting for our house to be built.

This is also for the Banner Card Challenge in the November Mini Crop at Turtle Soup. Come check it out. Our theme this month is banners and flags.....lots of fun challenges going on!

Slip N Slide

We've got a mini crop going on at Turtle Soup. It starts today and runs through Sunday, Nov. 29th.
For my mini crop challenge, I want you to make and use some flags on your project. The flags I made remind me of the seasonal flags people have in their yards.

This is my granddaughter trying out the slide at a birthday party. She was only a little over 2 years old and she doesn't look like she's having too much fun. I just had to laugh when I saw this photo!
All the papers on here are from Seaside Yacht collection by DCWV. The colors just went perfectly with the photo.

So please come join our mini crop. Lots of fun challenges going on! Hope to see you there!

Creepy Crawly

I started working on a couple of Halloween cards and decided to do one for the Creepy Crawly card challenge at Cards in Envy.

I embossed some Core'dinations Black Magic paper with a spider web embossing folder and then used sandpaper to distress it. The spider was cut with my Cricut. Simple and quick card!

Believe

Here's another Christmas card I've made for one of the WCMD challenges at the Turtle Soup Mini Crop. It was simple.....you just had to make a Christmas card.

Such a simple card but I really like it. It was so quick and easy, I made several of them!

Fall Colors

I've got an inspiration challenge up at Turtle Soup today. I wanted to do a fall layout but not using the usual orange colors. I found this mood board on Design Seeds and thought it was perfect.

And here's my layout

This photo was perfect for these fall colors. I got messy with the background using texture paste and mists. The triangles were cut with my cricut and I backed some of them with some old fall papers I had. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Just Me

I've got a stencil challenge up at the Turtle Soup Mini Crop today. The crop runs til Sunday, Sept. 27th so you have plenty of time to play along. We have several challenges going on during our mini crop. Stop by and check it out!

I used 3 different stencils. The one behind the photo is one I've had for a couple of years but couldn't quite figure out how to use it. It finally dawned on me to use it as a frame so I just used ink with it. The butterflies and heart stencils were done using texture paste.

Thanks for stopping by!

Arizona Cactus

We went out to Sedona, AZ back in 2008 and saw some of the strangest looking cactus. On our way from Sedona to Phoenix we just had to stop and take some pictures.

I kept this one simple also, really hate to distract from the photos. I just double matted the photos, added some stickers and some journaling.

This is also for the Botany themed challenge at the Turtle Soup Mini Crop.

Happy Scrapping!

Silica Dome

Here's a layout about our trip to Las Vegas back in 2007. We had such a good time when we headed out to the desert. We enjoyed that much more than being on the strip!

These rock formations were just amazing so I didn't want the lo to be too busy. I just used some texture paste and a stencil and then did some light smooching on top of it.

This is also for the travel challenge over at the Turtle Soup Mini Crop.

Formica Tiles

These tags were made using Formica samples you can get for free from Home Depot. They're kinda small to work with but it was fun putting them together.

This was for a challenge over at Turtle Soup. Stop by and check out all the other formica sample tags!

Happy Scrapping!

Anniversary Card

I've got another challenge up at Turtle Soup today. Actually, it's a tutorial I found at Splitcoast Stampers that uses your stencils in a different way. You can check out the tutorial here.

This is what I created after watching the tutorial

And here's the card I made with it:

I love how this came out and I can't believe how easy it was. I will definitely be using this technique again!

Danger Zone

I've got a challenge up at Turtle Soup today. We have another wonderful sketch by Bev Code to work with.

And here's the sketch

I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang products for the background and then used a crackle stencil and gesso on a couple of the corners. I thought the Halloween washi tape was perfect for these signs.

Snowman Card

I just love snowmen so when I saw this card on Pinterest I just had to lift it. This also fits a challenge at Turtle Soup. You had to use one of your pins from Pinterest for your inspiration.

Isn't he just the cutest little snowman!

Everything on this card was embossed using my Cuttlebug. The background blue piece was embossed using my new Anna Griffin snowflake folder. I love it! The snowman's hands are branches that I cut out on my Cricut.  This was so quick and easy that I made several more of these cards.

Make a Wish

Here's a card I made for the Cards In Envy Birthday Card challenge.

This was an easy one to put together. I cut out the red scalloped shapes on my Cricut and embossed the background on my Cuttlebug. Then stamped the butterflies and sentiment. Very simple!

Congrats Card

I've got a card sketch challenge up today at Turtle Soup. We have a fabulous sketch from Bev Code to work with. I couldn't wait to work on it!

Here's the sketch:

First I took a stencil and inked the background paper. Then I added some texture paste to the left side, dragged my scraper tool through it and inked it lightly with black ink. The squiggly circle is from a new die that I was dying to try out. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the wooden arrow that I had inked up.
Hope you get a chance to drop by Turtle Soup and play along with some of our challenges!

Happy Days

Here's a layout I did for a TTT challenge at Turtle Soup. I got to try "smooching" for the first time! I watched a you tube video by Missy Whidden, whose work I love. Then I sat down and proceeded to get messy!

I started by using some texture paste with a stencil and then painted over it with a thin layer of gesso. I used mist and ink to do the smooching part and I love how it came out. I'll definitely be trying this technique again!

Things to Remember

I've got a challenge up at Turtle Soup today. It's Wednesday so that means we are trying to crash our stash, which we all know will probably never happen but it's still nice to try, right! For this challenge you can only use solid color cardstock scraps. No printed paper allowed!

I started with a white background and used stamps, gesso, stencils and even added some doodling around the edges. All the layers under the photo are embossed and inked.

If your looking for some fun challenges come join us at Turtle Soup.  Hope to see you there!

Let it Snow

This is a layout of my 2 granddaughters this past winter. They had so much snow in their area.....I think they broke records. Anyway, they were trying to help with the digging out. They had received Elsa and Anna shovels for Christmas and they were eager to try them out.

This is also for a sketch challenge at Turtle Soup. Here's the sketch:

I just love this sketch and couldn't wait to work with it. Love how it turned out!

Cupcake Birthday Card

This card was done for a challenge at the Turtle Soup Birthday Bash. You had to use a cupcake on your project.

This came together so quickly. I embossed the top half and added some scrap paper for the bottom and placed washi tape over the seam. The cupcake was a 3-D sticker I've had in my stash forever and even the yellow scalloped circle was from my stash of scraps. Easy Peasy!

Smile

Here's a layout of my granddaughter at her 7th birthday. I used a sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

and here's the sketch

All the papers are from MME 's The Sweetest Thing Collection and the embellies are from a different  mix of collections but they all seem to work together.

This also fits a challenge at the Birthday Bash going on at Turtle Soup. You had to use a photo of a birthday cake on your project.

So Excited

Here's another birthday layout for the Turtle Soup Birthday Bash going on this month.

And here's the sketch we had to work with

I used a couple of cute photos of my granddaughter opening up her birthday presents. She let out the loudest scream and was so excited as you can tell from the blurry photo.

I stamped on my background paper using Versamark ink and then cut the presents out on my Cricut. Added a bit of ribbon, some doilies, washi tape and rub-on stitching. I also added some hidden journaling behind the top photo. I really liked this sketch so the layout came together quickly.

Hope you can join us at Turtle Soup for our Birthday Bash. Lots of fun challenges and games with some amazing prize packages. If you do this challenge you'll be entered into a drawing for a prize. Hope to see you there!

Christmas Card

I can't believe I actually made a Christmas card this early in the year. A definite first for me!
Anyway, this is for one of the Birthday Bash Challenges at Turtle Soup. It was a card sketch and after seeing someone else do a Christmas card, I just had to do one myself.

And here's the sketch:

This came together quickly and it was all made with scraps! Love when that happens!
