Birthday Wishes Card

We've got a DT sketch reveal challenge going on today over at Creative Inspiration. I chose to do the card sketch.

And here's the sketch

I had to turn the sketch to fit the balloons with their tails. I die cut the balloons using some MFT dies and colored them in with Spectrum Noir markers. I thought the birthday candle paper was perfect with the balloons and just added the embossed sentiment.

I hope you'll stop by Creative Inspiration and play along with us. We also have a layout sketch reveal going on today.  Hope to see you there!

Harvest

I've got an inspiration challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. Fall is my favorite time of the year even though we don't have a fall here in Florida. I miss it so much! Anyway, here's my layout.

Here's the inspiration photo.

1st Day of Kindergarten

We've got our weekly sketch up over at the Sketches in Thyme Blog and today is my day to reveal my take on the sketch.

Here's the sketch

This sketch has so many possibilities but I decided to stay pretty true to the sketch. I also got to use up a lot of scraps that I've had for quite a while.

I hope you'll stop by Sketches in Thyme and play along with us!

Anna and Elsa

I've got a stash challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. My challenge is to use some sequins, chipboard, diecuts and scraps on your project.

This is a pretty simple page but it felt good to use up some of my stash. I have a ton of chipboard
so I inked up the circles using white ink and then brushed some pink ink over them also. The snowflakes are leftover from a border punch. The title was cut from some scrap glitter paper and it's hard to see but there are white sequins all over the page.....I have sequins coming out my ears. lol

Dies R Us Design Team

I am so excited to be trying out for the Dies R Us Design Team! I love working with dies and they have a huge amount of dies, from many different companies, on their website. You should check it out and see for yourself!

Here are my 3 cards I submitted for consideration.

My first one is a clean and simple card. I started by inking up a piece of cardstock with 3 different colors of Distress Oxides and then sprinkled some water on it to get a mottled effect. I then cut the leaves out of a white piece of cardstock using an MFT die and I also used a stitched die from Gina Marie for the edges. I then backed that with the inked piece and popped it up on a white card. I stamped and embossed the sentiment and then added a few flower sequins.

For the second card I got a little messy.  I again inked up a piece of cardstock with some Distress Oxide inks and then die cut the heart using the Sizzix Sizzlets Scribbles and Splat die. The sentiment was also cut from a set of dies. I used some watercolor paint on the background and then flicked some Tattered Angels and Dylusions mists around. Then I glued everything down using the Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect and added some shiny sequins to give it a little sparkle.

For my last card I decided to go masculine.  I started with a muted blue and green piece I found in my scraps and then stamped and die cut the motorcycle and flames using a Sizzix stamp and die set. The sentiment banner was cut using the Lawn Fawn Bannertastic stamp and die set.

So please keep you fingers crossed for me! I really hope I make this team. It'll give me a good excuse to buy more dies cause you can never have too many, as far as I'm concerned. lol

Happy Birthday

We are celebrating our birthday over at Creative Inspiration this week with a Birthday Bash Mini-Crop. We have all sorts of birthday related challenges along with some fun games and of course some prizes.  My challenge is to make a birthday card. You can never have enough birthday cards on hand!

I just love this stamp and die set from My Favorite Things. All the candles were done with a die and the sentiment is the matching stamp set. I backed all the candles with scraps and the flames were backed with shiny gold paper. I stamped the sentiment and then embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it stand out.

I hope you'll join us at Creative Inspiration!
