Capture the Moment

We've got a great theme going on this month for all our challenges over at Cookin' Up Creations. It's Holiday Movie Favorites. You can reference the movie in your layout or the DT member has come up with an alternate way to play along. I just played along with the It's a Wonderful Life challenge and I used the alternate which was to scrap a photo or photos of a couple.
I chose my stepdaughter and her boyfriend.

You should really come by and check out all our challenges. They're really fun this month and who knows.....you could even win our monthly prize!

Thanks for stopping by!

Miracle on 34th Street

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Holiday Movies. Each challenge follows the theme of one of the DT's favorite holiday movie. My all time favorite movie is Miracle on 34th Street so naturally I used it for one of my challenges.

These are my granddaughters and the youngest one (on Santa's lap) was a bit skeptical as to whether or not Santa was real last year so her mom did all she could to get her to believe at least for 1 more year. The oldest one didn't believe in Santa anymore but she also did what she could to keep her little sister believing in Santa.

I hope you'll drop by Cookin' Up Creations and play along with us!

Happy Scrapping!

A Spinning Good Time

We've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration . This month's theme is FAMILY, HOLIDAYS, VACATIONS, CELEBRATIONS, CHRISTMAS, SPARKLE, BLING, GLOSSY ACCENTS, CLUSTERS. So there's something for everyone this month!

I decided to use the family vacation theme. These are my granddaughters with their Uncle at Disney World. We had such a good time and it was the girls 1st time at Disney World so it was really special. My layout is very simple. The paper already had the face and Mickey on it so I purposely kept it simple and just added some Disney stickers and washi tape.

I hope you'll come join us at Creative Inspiration!

Happy Scrapping!

She Believes

We've got a new challenge theme up at Cookin' Up Creations. Since it's December and everybody is looking forward to seeing their favorite Christmas movies, this month's theme is Holiday Movies. For each challenge a DT member picks one of their favorite movies and does a layout using the theme of the movie. I decided to use The Polar Express for my layout and I just happened to have some photos of my granddaughter on The Polar Express from last year. And since it's Monday, I have a sketch for you to use.

Here's the sketch from Janice Daquila-Pardo that I found on Pinterest

Christmas Gift Bag

We have a 12 Days of Christmas mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration. There are lots of fun challenges and games and you have til Sunday, Dec. 8th to play along. Come join us!

My challenge is to decorate a gift bag

Simple, easy but so much prettier than a store bought one, I think. We go to a lot of Christmas parties and this is perfect for a little hostess gift.

Merrily

I've got a challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is to try and use up some of your stash that is from companies that have gone out of business. For my layout I used up some very old paper from Daisyd's Snowflake and Holly collection. There's no date on the paper but I know I bought it at a discount store before 2011, so it's really old.

If you're new to scrapping and don't have any old stash from companies that have gone out of business, that's fine. You can still play along using the 2nd part of the challenge which is to scrap a Christmas themed layout.

I hope you'll come join us and play along!

Evil

Today I'm sharing my first project with the Cookin' Up Creations Challenge Team. I'm so excited to be on this team! I love that they have a different theme each month. This month's theme is
Fall Back - Thanks for the Memories. As we Fall Back (time change) this November, let's reflect on the Scrapbooking Industry and how it's changed over time. Whether you're a new scrapper or have been at it a while, we can all attest to the changes in the industry over time. Companies come and go...and we've all felt the deep sadness as another company/website closed it's doors. With that being said, let me just say, THANKS for the memories to all of those said manufacturers.
So for this month we are going to be using papers and products from companies that are no longer in business. As I was going through my stash I was surprised that a large amount of my papers were from companies no longer in business.  How sad!

As it's Monday we will also be working with a sketch by Laura Whitaker that I found on Pinterest.

September 15 2015 sketch for Bosy Ruls Scrapbook Kits by Laura Whtiaker - Scrapbook.com

Here's my take on the sketch

The orange floral paper is Vintage Floral from Basic Grey's Aged & Confused Sublime Collection and the yellow banners are from Sassafraslass' Paper Crush collection from 2010.

I hope you'll stop by Cookin' Up Creations and play along with us!

Disgust

I've got a challenge up over at Creative Inspiration today. It's an Anything Goes challenge but you have to use black and one other color on your project. I chose to use black and neon green. It was perfect for a Halloween layout.

The stencil I used on the black background was bright green but as it dried it lost the color. Not sure why since it was a Distress Oxide that is supposed to show up on black (at least that's what I thought).

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge today.

I decided to make a Thanksgiving card and was able to use up some scraps I had laying around on my desk. The background was done using Distress Oxides and water to get the watercolor effect.

Epcot Adventure

We've got a new Mini Crop going on over at Creative Inspiration. Our theme this month is quite varied. It's family, friends, different backgrounds, dies and punches so you have a lot to choose from. I went with family and added some background work and used a punch also.

I started with white cardstock for the background and then scribbled some water color crayon on some packaging and added water and used the smooshing technique for the teal background. Then simply dug into my Disney stash. The family in the photo is my stepdaughter and 2 granddaughters. It was their 1st trip to Disney World. For some strange reason they liked Epcot better than any other park!  Go figure!!

Autumn Greetings

We've got a new sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. It's so cute and there are so many possibilities. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

Here's the sketch

I started by inking up some white cardstock with some fossilized amber Distress Oxide and flicked some water on it. Then took some watercolor paper and randomly painted different fall colors all over it. I then diecut the stitched leaves out of it and added even more paint to get a better fall feel. I stamped and embossed the sentiment and inked the edges and added several orange Nuvo Drops.

Joyful Wishes

I've got another Christmas card today up on the Dies R Us Blog. I am just loving all the new Christmas dies and the one I used on this card is just so much fun!

Isn't this reindeer so cute! I love how you can customize it!
When I got the die I was a bit confused on how to use it so I went ahead and cut out some white cardstock. Then it all made sense!

I then went back and cut out the antlers and ears using brown cardstock, the hat using red cardstock and the eyes using black cardstock.
To assemble the card, I started with a kraft cardstock base. I took a piece of white cardstock and covered it in Bundled Sage Distress Oxide and then flicked water on it. Once that was dry I flicked white paint all over it. I placed all the reindeer pieces on and then stamped and embossed the sentiment. I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops for the nose and added several under the sentiment.

Supplies Used

Tutti Designs - Dies - Build A Reindeer Face

Lawn Fawn - Winter Scripty Sentiments Stamps

Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Bundled Sage
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Gloss Red Berry

Best Glue Ever

Don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

Congrats

I've got a Use Your Stash Challenge up today over at Creative Inspiration. I decided to give you a short list of items to use on your layout. If you don't have them all, that's ok, just use what you have.

You must use stamps, a stencil, mist or paint and some scraps. On mine the mats are from my
scrap pile, the stars were made with a stencil and modeling paste, I flicked red mist all over the page
and I used several graduation stamps.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

Have a scrappy day!
