We Have Each Other

I've got a sketch reveal up today over at Sketches In Thyme. We have a new sketch every week and each day of that week  a DT member reveals their take on the sketch. And we love it when you play along with us!

Here's the sketch

This photo of my granddaughters is from a fall fair but there weren't really any fall colors in the photo. So I decided to work with the colors of their clothes, blue and red.

Thinking of You

I've got a card up today over at Dies R Us. The bright green color makes this a pretty cheerful Thinking of You card made using all Impression Obsession dies.

I first cut the floral background out in the lime green and mounted it on some very pale blue/green cardstock. I held it up to the purple card base and wow did that make the green pop! I wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly simple so I die cut only two of the Abstract Flowers, the smallest and the middle sized ones in plain white cardstock and added some black nailheads to the centers. And to really anchor the whole card I die cut the sentiment in black cardstock.  Someone once told me to always use something black when your designing anything because your eyes need a place to rest.  It really does seem to work!

Supplies Used:

Impression Obsession - Dies - Greeting Set

Impression Obsession - Dies - Abstract Flowers

Impression Obsession - Dies - Floral Background

Go Mama

I've got an Anything Goes Challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. I decided to try something a little different and have everyone play a game of Tic Tac Toe to complete their project.

Here's the Tic Tac Toe Grid to use

Washi Tape

Torn Edges

Ink

Flowers

Texture Paste

Stickers

Bling

Ribbon

Paint

You can choose to go horizontally, vertically or diagonally but you must use all 3 items on your project. For my layout, I chose to go diagonally and used Washi Tape, Texture Paste and Paint.

The Washi Tape is the black chevrons behind the photos, the texture paste was used to make the white stars and for the paint I used blue and green watercolor behind the photos.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us over at Creative Inspiration!

Layered Die Cuts

I've got a layered heart die cut Valentine's Day Card up today at the Dies R Us Blog.

To start I cut out multiple layers of the heart die cut. I also cut out the center of the silver paper using the same die cut.

Even that wasn't enough layers. I went and cut at least 2 more layers since I really wanted the die cut to have some height. I then glued them together using some ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever with the small no clog writing tip. It really works well on all this glitter paper. Here's a side view of the card so you can see all the layers of the heart die cut. I love how all the layers add so much to the card.

Supplies Used:
