Family

I've got an embossing challenge up today over at Creative Inspiration. We are having a week long mini crop and this month's theme is techniques. I chose to do some embossing and did both wet and dry embossing.

Dry Embossing

The photo mat was dry embossed. I chose a large embossing folder that had a frame like design and embossed a piece of black cardstock. I then applied some mother of pearl embellishment mousse by Nuvo. I love how it made the mat look like metal!

Wet Embossing

The Oh Happy Day sentiment was wet embossed on the card. I stamped the sentiment with black ink and then embossed it using clear embossing powder.

I love embossing on projects. It just adds so much dimension when you dry emboss and wet embossing seems to make stamped images really pop.

Easter Bunny Card

I've got a cute little Easter Bunny Card up  on the Dies R Us Blog today. I fell in love with these little bunny dies by Tutti Designs and couldn't wait to play with them!

I started by embossing some pale green cardstock with an embossing folder I've had forever. We don't sell this exact one but we do have others in the store here that would work beautifully. Then it was time to die cut all the pieces. I used 4 of the 5 piece Sue Wilson Millie frames and tag set and the Tutti Designs Cottontail set.  I couldn't resist making the inside of his one ear pink by cutting out a second ear in pink and then cutting it down to fit. I popped up the outer circle and the bunny to give the cards some dimension. Below are links to all the products I used.

Supplies Used:
                                                                   Sue Wilson Designs

Masculine Birthday Card

I've got a masculine birthday card up on the Dies R Us Blog today. I don't know about you but I find it hard to come up with masculine cards. So here's a quick and easy one using a fun die that I just love from Memory Box. I'll post the link below.

I started with a navy blue base and a piece of white cardstock. I then rounded all the edges and got out my Distress Oxides and went to work on the white piece applying the inks from darkest to lightest. Then just sprinkled some water on the ink. The circle die was cut from a piece of ombre paper and the sentiment was cut from a piece of black glitter paper. I put it all together using some ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever with the small no-clog writing tip.

Here are the links for the products I used

Oh Happy Day!

We've got a new sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog today. We have a new sketch every Monday and then on Wednesday we have a DT reveal and announce the winners from the previous week. This weeks sketch has so many possibilities!

Here's the sketch

Here's my take on  it

I took an embossing folder and used it as a letter press. I inked one side of the folder with some Distress Oxide Ink in cracked pistachio and then colored in the yellow parts of the leaves with some alcohol markers. I then ran the panel through my die cut machine with a wonky stitched rectangle die and added the sentiment and ribbon.

I hope you'll stop by and play along!

Have a scrappy day!

Watercolor Card

I've got a card up today over at Creative Inspiration. We have a DT layout and card sketch reveal every Sunday.
Here's my card

Here's the sketch

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and then just brushed several different colors of watercolor paint randomly around the paper. For the green flourish I used modeling paste mixed with a green gelato and used a stencil to apply it. I then dug through my stash and added the flowers. I couldn't decide what kind of sentiment to use so I just didn't add one......maybe later!
