Cherish

It's Friday!!! And it's time for our weekly sketch reveal at My Scraps and More Sketches. If you like sketches, please come join us. We've got some awesome sketches to play with! This week we had this great sketch to work from.

And here's my take on it

This is my granddaughter, Cadence, with her girlfriends on the last day of Kindergarten. I just love that two of them had to wear sunglasses! I had so many colors to work with but as usual I stuck with pink. Most layouts I do are about my granddaughters so naturally they're pink. Anyway...... this took me a while even though it's a pretty simple design because I did some hand stitching to attach the strip of vellum to the background paper. Then I added some washi tape up the side and printed out the journaling strips on my computer. The white embossed strips were leftovers from playing with my new embossing folders and dies and then I added some wood hearts and arrows.

This layout also fits a Crash Your Stash Challenge at Turtle Soup where you had to use arrows on your layout. We've got lots of challenges going on over there along with a mini crop. Stop by and check us out!

Turtle Soup Puzzle Sketch

This layout is for the Turtle Soup Blog Hop Puzzle Sketch. This was so much fun visiting everyone's blogs to collect the puzzle pieces and then putting them together to form the sketch.

All the papers on here, which isn't much, was from my scrap pile. Yippee, I love using up scraps! I used my new Prima stencil on the background with gesso to get a bit of dimension. I stitched around the doily and really like how it turned out. The photos were a Valentine card from my granddaughters from last year, I just love the little one of them sharing a kiss. The purple and white enamel dots are ones I made myself out of perler beads....so easy to do and they come out perfect every time!

Check out the post below about our blog hop going on until Sunday the 27th. It's a lot of fun and there are several prizes up for grabs! Hope to see you there!

For my Spring Themed project I decided to use some spring colors and made a thank you card.

I used some of the new Anna Griffin embossing folders and coordinating dies to make all the layers. Cut the leaves with a Spellbinders die in two different colors of cardstock. The flowers are from Prima and the stamp I've had for a while but don't remember where it's from.

I am also offering a RAK to anyone who comments on and becomes a follower of my blog.

Remember to collect the puzzle piece and continue on with the blog hop.

Cupcakes!!!

Here's a little birthday card I made for the Turtle Soup 4/13 Card Challenge.

This was fun and messy. The three vertical strips are double sided tape covered in glitter. The cupcakes were stamped then colored in with watercolor pencils. For the cupcake tops I covered them in dimensional glue than sprinkled white glitter and tiny beads on top. And the cherries on top are dimensional glue with red glitter sprinkled on top.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Perfect Moment

It's Friday so that means another sketch reveal at My Scraps & More Sketches. This week we had this great sketch to work with.

And here is my take

The background paper is from Carta Bella's Happy Little Moments line along with all the sentiment stickers. I love their element stickers from this line, they are perfect for family layouts. The cross hatch paper behind the photo is faux letter press...got to use another one of my new embossing folders. The waves and clouds were cut with my Cricut and inked and I also embossed the clouds. I've been doing a lot of embossing lately!

So if you like sketches, please come join us at My Scraps & More Sketches where a new sketch is revealed every Friday. Hope to see you there!

Easter Card

Here's an Easter Card that I'll be entering in the Cards In Envy Hippity Hoppity Easter's on It's Way! Easter Card Challenge.

This was such a fun card! I cut two ovals and then just went crazy with the scissors to cut out his feathers. I used a scallop cut for the eggshell and then added some spring colored papers and flowers. His little feet are hearts and I took a strip of paper and folded it accordion style so that they fold flat for mailing. This little chick just makes me smile!

Mighty Mites

Today was our Design Team Sketch Reveal at Turtle Soup. The first Monday of every month our design team reveals their takes on our weekly sketch. This week we had this fabulous sketch to work with.

And here's my take on it

This is my granddaughter, Cadence, and she is following in her mother's footsteps, becoming a cheerleader. She really seems to enjoy it and I think she is just adorable in her cheerleading uniform.

For this layout I used a mix of papers and cut out the star border with my Cricut. I made the two pom-poms by wrapping twine around the tines of a fork, tying it tightly in the center and then cutting the edges and fluffing them up. They came out pretty good even though they are a bit bulky.

Easter Card

Here's an Easter Card I made for the Cards in Envy Anything Goes challenge. I just got these new Anna Griffin embossing folders and dies and I just had to play around with them. This is what I came up with.

These new dies match up with the embossing folders. After embossing the borders I was able to use the die to cut the scalloped edges. I love how this turned out! Can't wait to try some more!

CUTE

A couple of years ago I wanted to go to Scrapbook Expo in Orlando but didn't want to pay for a room at the Gaylord where the expo was being held. So my husband did some research and found out the Gaylord is just down the street from some of the Disney properties and the prices were so much cheaper. So we booked a room at the Pop Century Resort at Disney and both of us were happy. I got to go to the Expo and hubby explored Disney but didn't go to any of the parks. Anyway, I had a ton of fun at the Expo, spent a ton of money and took several classes in between my shopping. I would love to go again someday!
This layout is about the towel sculptures we found in our room. All the rooms at this resort have windows that look out on the outdoor hallways and they put different sculptures in each window so all the passerby's can see them.  Aren't these just the cutest!

I did this layout for My Scraps & More April Sketchathon 4/3 challenge where you had to use the daily sketch and use memorabilia on your layout. I used the hotel key card and the flower stickers that were on the towel sculptures.
This layout also fits the 4/2 Crash your Stash challenge at Turtle Soup where you had to use something at least 6 months old on your layout. Everything here is at least 1 year old and most of it is probably 5 years old or more.
