Here's my card

Here's the sketch

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of coffee rings and luckily I had just received the Scrapping For Less January Card Kit and the theme was coffee. What a perfect match!

Time to Fly

Here's a card I created today for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #298.

Here's the sketch

I just love this sketch.....so many possibilities! Since I haven't had a chance to play lately due to the holidays, I pulled out my untouched November card kit from Scrapping For Less. What a great kit! I love this sentiment stamp and just had to use it. It was perfect for the AHS sketch.

Joy to the World

Here's another Christmas card! I think I've made more than I really need to send but I've been having so much fun with the October card kit from Scrapping For Less. The stamps and ephemera they included in this kit were fabulous!

Isn't this stamp just super cute!!! I couldn't wait to color it!

This card is also for the Creative Inspiration Sunday sketch reveal. I hope you'll stop by and check out all the other DT members projects. We have a layout sketch along with the card sketch. Hope to see you there!

Party Time Card

We've got a Mini Crop going on over at Creative Inspiration and my challenge is to try a different background on your layout or card. I'm always searching for new techniques and found this fun and fairly easy one by Jennifer McGuire Ink that she calls Rotating Stencils.
Here's the Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f4XIaBk19I

Here's my card

I pulled out 6 different colors of my Distress Oxides and a piece of white cardstock. The stencil I used was Balzer Designs Mini Burst by TCW. I laid the stencil down and rubbed some ink over a portion and then turned the stencil slightly and rubbed the next color of ink overlapping on some of the 1st color and just continued around the cardstock with the different ink colors. I then did the same thing using some Bo Bunny Stencil Paste in whisper to add some dimension and shine. The photo doesn't do this card justice. It's much prettier in person....at least in my opinion.

I hope you'll join us over at Creative Inspiration and check out our Mini Crop challenges and play along with us.

Thank you card

Happy World Cardmaking Day! We've got a mini crop going on at Creative Inspiration with all sorts of fun challenges and even a couple of games. Check it out and play along with us. My challenge for the crop is to make a card using some stamps.

Aren't these two little guys so cute! I fell in love with this stamp from Newton's Nook Puppy Pals set and thought the sentiment was perfect. I stamped everything using some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored it all in using my Spectrum Noir markers. Added some heart punches and some sequins and it was done. Clean and simple!

Hay There

We've got a card and layout DT sketch reveal going on today at Creative Inspiration. Every Sunday we have this challenge and I love seeing all the different takes from our DT members. I decided to use the card sketch this week.

Here's the sketch

I just loved this sketch with the pocket! I immediately felt like I had to do a down on the farm theme with this sketch. As  you can see I turned the sketch. For the pocket I took some Core'dinations whitewashed color core paper and distressed it to bring out the blue so it would look more like a jean pocket. I stitched around the edges by hand and added the rivets to the top of the pocket. I wanted to use some red checked paper but couldn't find any so settled for the blue and die cut the frame with some red paper.  I die cut the rooster, hen and little chick and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped the chicken within the frame and added the little tag and also stamped the tag with hay there. I had so much fun making this card.

I hope you'll stop by Creative Inspiration to check out our reveal and play along with us!

Easy Background Technique

I've got a tutorial/tip challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. I was looking for an easy new technique and found this on Youtube by Jennifer McGuire Ink. Here's the link to her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16p0TR7A7I0&t=315s.

I had just gotten this stamp with a card kit from Scrapping for Less and thought it would be perfect for this background.  I just love how this turned out!

Summer School - Primary Colors

Here's another card I've made for the My Favorite Things summer school. This lesson was about using only the primary colors of red, blue and yellow. This one really took some thinking....not as easy as it sounds!

All the stamps I used on this card were from the Scrapping For Less June card kit. This was such a fun kit with all the beach related items!

Summer School - Symmetry

I've been playing along with My Favorite Things summer school this week and have made 3 cards so far. It's  been a lot of fun and I've learned some things also. The 1st card I made was for their symmetry class. I'd never really thought about symmetry on a card before but I like how it came out.

I've got several more cards to make for this session of Summer School before it ends on Thursday.
Hope  I graduate!!

Chicks and Ice Cream

Here's a card I made using the Flavor of the Month Card Kit from Scrapping for Less. This was a great kit with lots of pretty papers and cute stamps. I fell in love with this image and the sentiment was perfect for it.

I decided to mix the busy printed papers and loved how the image still stood out so well against the busy background. I colored in the image with my Spectrum Noir pens and then added some light blue chalk all around the image to tone down the white paper. Then added some clear accents in the top corner and it was done.

Fairy Tales

Here's a card I made for 2 different challenges. One at Scrapping for Less using their February Flavor of the Month Card Kit and the other for Creative Inspiration where you had to make an anniversary card.

I just love this little stamp and really enjoyed coloring it in with my watercolor pencils. I die cut two stitched frames and angled them around the image, stamped the sentiment and then just fussy cut it out randomly. Inked all the edges and added some sequins and it's ready to go.

Butterflies

Here's a card I worked on today. It's for a challenge going on over at Scrapping for Less. They have a sketch challenge every month and you can enter up to 3 projects.

And here's this month's sketch

This sketch has so many possibilities and I really enjoyed working with it. I started off using a
5 x 5 base card and added the yellow honeycomb paper. I cut out a hexagon and stamped, embossed and colored in the butterfly with Spectrum Noir markers. I then cut out 4 squares of the yellow dotted paper and backed them with black. The little acetate butterflies on top of each square were cut with my Cricut. I love how this card came out!

Easter Card

Thought I'd get a jump on some Easter Cards today. This one is another entry into the sketch challenge up at Scrapping For Less. I really liked the sketch and it was just perfect for this card.

Here's the sketch

I found this little lamb on Pinterest years ago and finally decided to use it. I cut out all the pieces with my Cricut. I embossed her body and ran some ice blue ink across the embossing to give her some depth and dimension. She looked a little bare so I added the branch and flower and then decided to use some tiny flowers for her hair. The sentiment was stamped and die cut using a set from Lawn Fawn. The flowers have been in my stash for years so I stamped them with some blue ink and added a drop of Nuvo drops in each one.

Sunshine and Pink

Here's a card I made today that fits 2 different challenges. I just love this flamingo!

This fits the new challenge over at Cards in Envy where the theme is Give It Some Heart. You have to include some hearts on your card.

This also fits a sketch challenge over at Scrapping for Less. Here's the sketch:

I started this card by cutting a circle and then using ink I added the sky and then for the water I used several different colors of watercolor paint. I then stamped the sea grass along the bottom. The flamingo along with the hearts were cut using an MFT die and then colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The sentiment is also from MFT. I had so much fun with this card.
