It's that time of year, so of course I just had to make a Christmas card! All the papers on here are from Vicki Boutin's, Evergreen and Holly collection. The Christmas tree I found in my Christmas stash and it just happened to fit perfectly. This is a great sketch for a quick and easy card!

This is a great sketch to use up your scraps and I know you must have some if you're like me. I dug into some very old Christmas scraps from probably ten years ago. The only thing new on here is the sentiment stamp from MFT. This was simply a cut and paste project and really didn't take all that long.

Here's the sketch

I love this sketch and I think I'll be making some more Christmas cards using it. I started with a solid white card base and added the bright blue foil paper and a white background. The silver snowflakes are foil washi tape and the Joyful was cut using a Momenta Die. The starburst was cut using a Sizzix framelits and stamp kit. The stamps were inked up using the new Spectrum Noir Tri-Colour metallic pens. The colors of those pens are so pretty. I can't wait to use them on black paper!

Here's the sketch

This was a quick and easy card and I love the simplicity of the sketch. I started with a cream colored card base. I added the green paper and found the green Merry Christmas washi tape in my stash and thought it would be perfect. The bells were cut on my Cricut and the red foil ribbon is a diecut from Amy Designs. The stamp is from Pink Fresh Studios Thrill of Hope Collection.

BOO!

Here's the sketch

I love this sketch! It is so versatile and I plan on using it for all sorts of cards. I started by inking up a crackle embossing folder and embossing a piece of white cardstock. Then tore some Halloween themed washi tape for the stripes. I wrapped some raffia around the card and cut the witches hand with my Cricut. You can't really see it in the photo but I painted the witches fingernails red using some Nuvo Drops....it looks so cool.

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for a Christmas card.

Here's the sketch

I started with a white card and added a red and gold foil strip. The holly and leaves diecuts are from Momenta and the stamp and die sentiment is from Pinkfresh. This was a very quick and easy card but sometimes simple is better and I think this is a beautiful card.

Here's the sketch

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I had the perfect stamp and die set for it. The set is from MFT Stamps and is called Winter Wreath. Once I stamped it I colored it using water color pencils. I didn't want to use winter colors, the stamp actually has a few acorns in it, so I added some small flowers I've had in my stash forever. I die cut it out twice so I could layer it and give it more dimension. The Happy 

Birthday sentiment is a die from Impression Obsession.

Christmas Card

I thought this was such a cute sketch! I decided to make another Christmas card so I dug through my Christmas paper scraps and found this very old piece and it just happened to be the perfect size....only had to cut it down a little. The image was just sitting on my desk since last Christmas so I just die cut it into a circle and mounted it on some green foil paper. The sentiment stamp is a new one from the Thrill of Hope collection from Pink Fresh. Then just added the bow and it was done!

7th Grade

 We've got a new sketch up today over at Sketches in Thyme. This is such a great sketch. I really enjoyed creating all the angles in this sketch. And I just happened to have a 5x7 school photo of my granddaughter sitting on my desk. So, stop by and play along with us!

I've had the busy patterned paper for years and so glad I finally found a layout where I could use it. I didn't want to take away from the photo so used black cardstock to calm down the busy paper. It took a while to get all the angles figured out but I'm very happy with the end results.

I thought this sketch would make a pretty Christmas card.  I belonged to a Card kit club years ago and still have a lot of leftover papers from it so I decided to start using it. I found this purple collection but I have no idea whose it is. Anyway, I loved the colors and thought it would be perfect for this sketch. The stitched sentiment tag is from MFT and the Joyful sentiment is from Momenta.

I decided to make a Christmas card using this sketch. The papers are from an old Craft Smith pad called Gold Gift. I matted them with black to really make them pop against the cream card. The joy sticker I found in my stash and have no idea where it came from. lol

Ready To Read

 We've got a new challenge up today over at Cookin' Up Creations. This month our theme is based on the old show The Brady Bunch. All challenges will be related to the show or actors.

When I think about The Brady Bunch I remember the fashion trends from that period and yes I wore some of those fashions. So my challenge is based on those trends. You will need to have some zigzags on your page, which I did with a stencil and some Distress Oxide. You will also need to add some fringe to your layout. I used an old pair of Martha Stewart fringe scissors to cut some cardstock into fringe. So there you have it....this is my retro fashion layout.

Birthday Truck Card

This was a fun sketch to work with. I needed a birthday card for my brother so I went the masculine route. My brother's favorite colors are red, gray and blue and he just bought a new blue truck. Perfect! I found the truck on Cricut and then just hit my solid color scraps and die cut all the banners using a large fishtail die from MFT. It came together so fast!

I thought this sketch was perfect for a Christmas card. I used papers from an old 6x6 paper pad from Craft Smith called Gold Gift. All the papers are gold and off white. The greenery in the corner was all die cut with Momenta dies. I decided on some black cardstock for the card to make the gold stand out.

New Year's Eve

 I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is all about Winnie the Pooh with lots of fun challenges that have to do with this famous little bear. 

My challenge is all about the honey that Winnie the Pooh loves so much. You'll need to use gold and hexagons on your layout. I started with a black background and splattered some gold mist around and then used a hexagon stencil with some gold ink. I added two gold strips behind the photo as well. The title offset paper is also gold. I hope you'll come join us for this fun theme!

Chihuly Museum

 There's a new sketch up today at Sketches in Thyme. This weeks sketch is by Brenda Ragsdale.  I love this sketch but really had to change it up to work with my photos.

Since I didn't have a set of 4 photos that would work, I decided to use two 4x6 photos. I also kept the background simple as I didn't want to take away from the photos. Once I figured out what I wanted to do it came together quickly. I cut the wreath and title with offset with my Cricut. Added some splatters and that was it.

Harpers Ferry Stone House

 I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!  All challenges will be based on those loveable characters. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us! 

My challenge is based on the 100 Acre Forest. You'll need to use trees along with greens and browns.

I've had this piece of paper for probably 15 years and couldn't figure out how to use it. I ran across it while going through my papers and thought it would be perfect for this challenge and not need a lot of embellishment. So, all I did was mat the photo with some green and orange paper and added the journaling. I printed the journaling out on cream cardstock, tore the edges and then aged it using Distress Inks and Oxides. I added the wooden leaves and squirrel just to add some more texture.

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew my Pink Fresh layered stencils and die would be perfect. I used some Distress Oxides and blender brushes with the stencils. I love how well the oxides blend! Then die cut it out and added the stitched banner with the Thanks die cut from Impression Obsession's Greeting Set. I also added several Nuvo Drops along the top.

I have to admit, when I first saw this sketch I was stumped. So I dragged out my 6x6 paper pads and it finally came together for me. Actually, this sketch is perfect for using your paper pads where the papers all match. So I followed the sketch almost exactly. I just did the sentiment strip a little differently but I'm very happy with it and I have a Christmas card done! So all in all, it worked out perfectly!

I had to change it up a bit by flipping my photos. The circle behind the photos was cut out with my Cricut along with the stars. The Happy Birthday title was a gift from a friend and all the little hearts and dots just happened to be left over, sitting on my desk. Just a couple days ago I was about to throw them out and then noticed they matched the title so I decided to keep them. Glad I did!

This was a fun sketch to work with. I took some doilies and inked them up with some Distress Oxides. Then dug into my scraps and pulled out the blue and pink papers to match my granddaughter's dress. The stars were cut using Stitched Stars from Tutti Designs. I also added some pink and blue splatters on the white background.

This was a fun sketch. I had a bunch of scraps from Easter cards on my desk and I thought they would be perfect for a Mother's Day card for my stepdaughter. I cut the papers all different lengths and widths and arranged them kinda haphazardly and then added the top pink and purple cardstock pieces. Stamped it with a stamp I've had forever and added the little purple pearls.

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for a Disney page. I got out my circle dies and went to town which used up a lot of my Disney paper scraps. I also added some black and red splatters to the background and instead of hearts I used stars and Mickey heads.

The sentiment square was a piece I had floating around on my desk (no idea where it came from) and the stamp is from the dollar bins that Michaels used to have years ago.

Squeeze the Day

 I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is Clue, the Scrapbook Game. We are using the characters, weapons and rooms from the board game to come up with some fun challenges. You get to be the detective and figure out who, what and where. For each challenge you complete you will get a clue to help you solve the crime. So the more challenges you complete, the more clues you will receive. The person who solves the crime will get a prize.

I chose Col. Mustard for this challenge. So you'll need to use yellow and lots of layers on your layout. 

I used Simple Stories, Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection against a solid yellow piece of cardstock on my layout.  I hope you'll play along with us.

 We've got a new and fun sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. This is such a fun sketch by Laura Rumble. I just loved all the white space she had in her design.

I decided this sketch was perfect for a Disney page. I dug into my immense stash of Disney stuff and found the perfect paper. I tore the dotted paper using an old wave ruler that I've had for ages and don't think I've ever used. It tore so nicely that I plan on using it more often. The rest is just from all the scraps I have and the tiny words are stickers. It really came together quickly.
