Surfer Girl

I got another layout done for the mini crop going on at Creative Inspiration. This challenge theme was summer fun. These photos were perfect for that theme. This was last summer at Ocean City, NJ. My granddaughter really conquered her fears of the water in the week we were there. The 1st day she would only jump over the tiniest waves holding someone's hand but by the end of the week she was actually riding the waves with her surfboard. Can't wait to see what she'll do this summer!

Beach Card

Here's my take on the July sketch challenge at Scrapping For Less. I used the June card kit which was full of beach themed products. I just love the beachy sentiments with this kit!

Special Day

Here's a layout I did for the Sketches in Thyme Blog DT Sketch Reveal. We have a new sketch every week and each day a different DT Member does their interpretation of the sketch. It's a lot of fun to see all the different takes on the same sketch.

Here's the sketch

I loved this sketch the minute I saw it and couldn't wait to work with it. I started with a very pale yellow and white background and then stamped around where the photo was going. I matted the photos with black to make them pop against the pale background. I added some gold paper behind the main photo but just on one side and used the same paper and mixed it in with some washi tape on the bottom corner and behind the smaller photo. I inked all the hearts with gold ink and the title was cut on my Cricut.

Summer School - Repetition

Here's my last card for the My Favorite Things Summer School session 1. This lesson was in repetition which I don't usually do so it took me a while to come up with this design.

I stamped the flowers using the MFT Circle Scribble Flowers and then used the MFT Scribbles    Die-namics. The sentiment is from Brutus Monroe which I stamped in black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Easy Background Technique

I've got a tutorial/tip challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. I was looking for an easy new technique and found this on Youtube by Jennifer McGuire Ink. Here's the link to her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16p0TR7A7I0&t=315s.

I had just gotten this stamp with a card kit from Scrapping for Less and thought it would be perfect for this background.  I just love how this turned out!

Summer School - Complementary Colors

Here's another card for the My Favorite Things Summer School. This lesson was about using complementary colors. I chose to use orange and blue.

This was a quick and easy card once I decided on the colors. I used all MFT stamps and just stamped away.

Summer School - White Space

This My Favorite Things Summer School class was about white space. Now I love white space projects but very rarely make a card with white space.

I just love this little guy and that sentiment goes perfectly with him. Both stamps are from My Favorite Things.

Summer School - Primary Colors

Here's another card I've made for the My Favorite Things summer school. This lesson was about using only the primary colors of red, blue and yellow. This one really took some thinking....not as easy as it sounds!

All the stamps I used on this card were from the Scrapping For Less June card kit. This was such a fun kit with all the beach related items!

Summer School - Symmetry

I've been playing along with My Favorite Things summer school this week and have made 3 cards so far. It's  been a lot of fun and I've learned some things also. The 1st card I made was for their symmetry class. I'd never really thought about symmetry on a card before but I like how it came out.

I've got several more cards to make for this session of Summer School before it ends on Thursday.
Hope  I graduate!!

Swing Batta Batta

We've got a DT layout and card sketch reveal going on at Creative Inspiration today. I decided to do the layout sketch. I hope you'll stop by to check out all the different takes on the sketches and play along with us.

Here's the sketch

I started with a white background and used a stencil and black ink for the diamond background. To get the bright splashes of pink, I used some pink bubblegum Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I just splashed it around the page. I took some diamond and triangle shaped wood pieces and inked them up with pink ink. The title was cut on my Cricut, once in black and again in pink. I then just offset them to get a bit of a shadow behind the title.
These are photos of my granddaughter playing softball and her team is called Diamond Divas whose colors are pink and black. It was the first game of hers that I was able to go to and it was so exciting to see her actually hit the ball and make it to 1st base. This was a team of 8 year olds playing against 11 year olds. They did really well! I was so proud of her!

Bloom

We've got a DT sketch reveal going on at Creative Inspiration. We have both a card and layout sketch that the DT got to work with. I did the card sketch this week.

Here's the sketch

I used a couple of Brutus Monroe stamps for the flower and sentiment. The butterfly stamps I've had in my stash for years. I colored everything using Spectrum Noir markers and then decided to use some watercolors around the stamped images. Added some pretty soft colored sequins and also added a drop of Nuvo glitter drops in each sequin.

I hope you'll stop by Creative Inspiration and check out our reveal and play along with us!
