Backgrounds

I've got a new challenge up on Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Clue, The Scrap Game. Each challenge will be related to the game of Clue. As you complete the challenges you will gain clues to help you figure out who the killer is and win a prize.
 Sounds like fun doesn't it?

Whenever you’re investigating a crime scene you need to do background checks, right? So this challenge is all about the background of your layout. Let’s get messy using some stencils, modeling paste, ink, paint, mists or even chalk. Use whatever you want as long as it changes the look of your background paper.  I used watercolor, a stencil, modeling paste and gelatos. What will you use?

I used some blue watercolor and a stencil with some modeling paste with 3 different colors of gelatos mixed in to get a stone look. It's hard to see in the photo but there are streaks of the different colors used in the modeling paste.

I hope you'll come over to Cookin' Up Creations and play along with us.

Graduation

We've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration this week. The theme this month is techniques, end of school and all things summer. I chose the end of school theme. This is my granddaughter at her kindergarten graduation.

This layout came together so quickly. I've had this paper with the colored pencils along the top for years and finally decided to use it. I didn't want to take away from the paper or the photos so everything else is pretty minimal and they were all scraps too. I decided to back the pencil paper with black to really make the colors stand out and pop.

Sisters

I've got a challenge up over at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Clue, The Scrap Game. You need to play along with the challenges to receive clues to solve the crime. I believe the murder weapon was the lead pipe so my challenge is to use something metal on your layout. I also have a sketch that you must use.

Here's the sketch by Laura Whitaker

This months theme is so much fun! I hope you'll pop over to our forum and play along with us. Did I mention there is a prize if you can figure out who the killer was, what weapon they used and what room the murder was in.

Hope to see you there!

Pool Day

We've got a new sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. We reveal a new sketch each week and each day a DT member will reveal their interpretation of the sketch. This sketch kind of intimidated me at first. I don't usually work with such small photos but once I settled on my photos the rest of it just fell into place.

Here's the sketch

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

Happy Scrapping!

Kindergarten School Pics

We've got a new sketch up over at Creative Inspiration today. I hope you'll stop by and check out all the DT members interpretation of the sketch.

Here's this weeks sketch

I had a hard time with this sketch because I don't usually do pages with more than 1 or 2 photos. So I decided to use a 5x7 photo and a couple of tags instead.

Hello Card

We've got a new sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. Every Monday we have a new sketch up for you to play along with and then on Wednesday we have a reveal of all the DT members cards.

Here's my take

Here's the sketch

I used mostly die cuts on my card. The blue and green backgrounds were done with Distress Oxide Sprays and then spritzed with water. I tore the edges of the sand paper and the bicycle, flowers, clouds and Hello were die cut.
