Jaws

This month at Cookin' Up Creations we are focusing on the color white. Each challenge will be a white plus one additional color. No other colors can be used. I've got a challenge up today and since it's Monday it's a sketch challenge and you must use the color coral with white. You can use black as an accent only, the layout must be 75% white and coral.

Here is my layout

Here's today's sketch from Bev Code

This has been quite an interesting month at Cookin' Up Creations. It's been quite a challenge to use only one color plus white on our pages.  I hope you'll come join us!

Sweet Birthday Wishes

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. We have a new one every Monday and then on Wednesday we show all the DT members examples along with the winners from the week before. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us.

My take on this weeks sketch

Here's the sketch

For the floral part of my card I used some MFT flower silhouette stamps and stamped them with Versamark ink and heat embossed them. I then took several different colors of Distress Oxides and sponged them over the embossed flowers. Then I wiped the flowers off with a paper towel. The polka dots behind the images were done with a stencil and Distress Oxide. The birthday sentiment is also from MFT.

Diamond Divas Champs

We've got a new sketch challenge up today over at Sketches In Thyme. We have a new one every week and then each day a DT member reveals their take on the sketch.

Here's my take on this fun sketch.

Here's the sketch

I used a star burst stencil with some Distress Oxide Ink for the pink starburst background. I cut the Champs flag on my Cricut and the stars are die cuts from Tim Holtz Festive Scribbles Dies.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

Happy Scrapping!

Annual Rockport Photo 2017

We've got a new challenge up today at Cookin' Up Creations. This month our theme is white plus
1 other color (you can use black as an accent color only).  For today's challenge I chose to use yellow. I love yellow but I don't use it very much so this was a bit of a challenge for me.

I started by mixing some yellow gelato with modeling paste and then used a stencil by Heidi Swapp to apply it to my white background. For the flowers I die cut them using an MFT die and then stamped them with a french script stamp and used black Nuvo Drops for the centers. The circles above and below the photo are also from a die by Memory Box. The butterflies were from a Martha Stewart punch and I added more Nuvo Drops to show their flight pattern. The sentiment strips are from some old ribbon I've had forever. I just cut the words and frayed the edges before I attached them to sentiment strips with some yellow brads.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

AHSC #376

We've got a new card sketch up over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog. Every Monday we have a new sketch and on Wednesday we show all the DT members takes on the sketch. We'd love for you to stop by and play along with us!

Here's my example

Here's the sketch

I love how this sketch has both a masculine and feminine feel to it. I decided to make it all masculine as I needed a birthday card for my brother. I embossed the bricks and then just lightly swiped some Distress Ink in Black Soot over them. The old fashioned telephone stamp is an old Tim Holtz stamp that I had never used.  I thought the red punched strip and sentiment strip gave the card just enough color to make the telephone stamp really stand out.
