Cheer Leader

I've got a layout up today over at the Dies R Us Blog. I usually create cards using die cuts but I decided to use some die cuts on a layout for a change.

I'

The dies I used here are Frantic Stamper Stitched Rounded Rectangles and Memory Box Large Ringlets. I cut two of each dies for my page.

The stitched rectangles are great for using as mats for your photos, sentiments, titles or even stickers. I used them here with some stickers to help them stand out on the dark background.

The larger rectangles were placed behind the photo and the yellow large ringlet die cuts were used as photo corners, I guess you could say.

Mother's Day Card

We've got a new card sketch challenge up at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog today. This weeks sketch has a lot of possibilities and can be used for any type of card. I hope you'll come join us and play along!

Here's the sketch

I started with a white piece of cardstock and randomly stamped the flowers on it with Versamark Ink and then embossed them with white embossing powder. I then sponged on some Distress Ink and Oxide Ink. Added some white ribbon, die cut and stamped the sentiment and punched out the butterfly.

Just Ducky

Sketches in Thyme and Cookin' Up Creations have teamed up this month. Cookin' Up Creations is using several sketches from Sketches in Thyme for their challenges. I think this is a wonderful and fun way to reach out to each other.

Here's my layout of my granddaughter who was going on a field trip to feed the ducks when she was in preschool. I just love her poses!

Disney Gift Bags

I've got a couple of Disney Gift Bags up on the Dies R Us Blog today. Using dies to decorate gift bags can really personalize your gifts. I always buy plain white gift bags from Dollar Tree and then just decorate away!

Here's the die I used - Disney - Romantic Stroll

Here are all the pieces I cut out

I used white cardstock to cut the die out and then recut just certain portions of the die like the shoes and the hands. I then used my alcohol markers to color in the die cut and used some ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever to adhere the shoes and hands onto the die cut. I adhered Mickey and Minnie to the gift bag along with the die cut balloons using some more of ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever. I used some old Disney Washi Tape along the bottom of the bags. Dies R Us doesn't carry it but we do have a lot of fun washi tape you can find here. I tied some ribbons to the handles and added some red tissue paper and stuffed them full of Disney soaps, shampoos and some Hershey Kisses for my granddaughters.

Products Used

We carry all sorts of Licensed Dies like Harry Potter, Marvel Comics characters and DC Comics characters. Any of these would be perfect for kids Birthday parties.
The Romantic Stroll one I used is out of stock but here's a similar one.

BRRRRRRR

We've got a DT layout and card sketch reveal up at Creative Inspiration today. I chose to do the layout.

Here's the layout sketch

Isn't this a fun sketch! I love getting messy creating a mixed media background! I first used a distressed heart stencil and some white gesso mixed with some pink gelato on the background. Then I used some glass beads and a starry stencil around the outside of the background paper. I forgot that the glass bead paste dried clear, I should have mixed in some white paint but it was too late so it doesn't show up very well in the photo. I spritzed the whole page with a pearlescent mist and then splattered some white paint around also. I was going for a cold icy feel since my granddaughter looks like she's freezing.

Birthday Card

Happy National Scrapbooking Day. Over at Creative Inspiration we are having a mini crop to celebrate. My challenge for the crop is to do some stamping on your project.

I started by inking up some white cardstock with several different colors of green Oxide Inks and then splattered it with some water. Then stamped the sentiment and musical score using my Tim Holtz stamp platform. It was really a quick and simple card.

I hope you'll join us over at Creative Inspiration for our mini crop. Lots of fun challenges and we are even having some games going on. And did I mention prizes too!! Hope to see you there!
