Merrily

I've got a challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is to try and use up some of your stash that is from companies that have gone out of business. For my layout I used up some very old paper from Daisyd's Snowflake and Holly collection. There's no date on the paper but I know I bought it at a discount store before 2011, so it's really old.

If you're new to scrapping and don't have any old stash from companies that have gone out of business, that's fine. You can still play along using the 2nd part of the challenge which is to scrap a Christmas themed layout.

I hope you'll come join us and play along!

I love this clean sketch and the frames just add so much to it. I thought it would be perfect for a sympathy card.

Evil

Today I'm sharing my first project with the Cookin' Up Creations Challenge Team. I'm so excited to be on this team! I love that they have a different theme each month. This month's theme is
Fall Back - Thanks for the Memories. As we Fall Back (time change) this November, let's reflect on the Scrapbooking Industry and how it's changed over time. Whether you're a new scrapper or have been at it a while, we can all attest to the changes in the industry over time. Companies come and go...and we've all felt the deep sadness as another company/website closed it's doors. With that being said, let me just say, THANKS for the memories to all of those said manufacturers.
So for this month we are going to be using papers and products from companies that are no longer in business. As I was going through my stash I was surprised that a large amount of my papers were from companies no longer in business.  How sad!

As it's Monday we will also be working with a sketch by Laura Whitaker that I found on Pinterest.

September 15 2015 sketch for Bosy Ruls Scrapbook Kits by Laura Whtiaker - Scrapbook.com

Here's my take on the sketch

The orange floral paper is Vintage Floral from Basic Grey's Aged & Confused Sublime Collection and the yellow banners are from Sassafraslass' Paper Crush collection from 2010.

I hope you'll stop by Cookin' Up Creations and play along with us!

Hello Card

Time for another card sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketches Challenge Blog. We have a new card sketch every Monday with a DT reveal on the following Wednesday. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us.

Here's the sketch

As you can see, I changed it up a little bit and it was all made with leftover scraps I had laying on my desk...I love when that happens!

Joy

It's Sunday so that means we have a new sketch up at Creative Inspiration. I hope you'll stop by and check out all the DT members take on the sketch.

Here's my take

Here's our sketch

This was a fun sketch to work with since I was able to get a little messy. I decided to do a Christmas layout and was able to use up some Christmas paper scraps and play around with some watercolor smooshing in the background.

Disgust

I've got a challenge up over at Creative Inspiration today. It's an Anything Goes challenge but you have to use black and one other color on your project. I chose to use black and neon green. It was perfect for a Halloween layout.

The stencil I used on the black background was bright green but as it dried it lost the color. Not sure why since it was a Distress Oxide that is supposed to show up on black (at least that's what I thought).
