Sedona, AZ

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is Route 66 and challenges will be based on the road trip, destinations, travel or the song.

I was looking at a map of Route 66 and noticed that there are a lot of crossroads along the way. Some looked like X's and some looked like crosses....perfect for a layout. So for my challenge you have to use X's, crosses or something resembling crossroads on your layout. I chose to use X's on my example.

I just cut small strips of paper and attached them in the shape of X's with brads. The photos are all destination photos of an arts and crafts village we went to out in Sedona, AZ.

Be Merry

We've got a new sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. We have a new one every Monday. Since it's July I thought I'd start celebrating Christmas in July by getting some of my Christmas Cards started.

Here's the sketch

This is such a versatile sketch and I had a hard time deciding what theme I wanted to go with. When I finally decided on Christmas it came together so fast.

Happy Easter

We've got a new sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. We have a new sketch every week. I hope you come play along with us. We've got some really fun sketches to work with.

This is my take on this week's sketch

Here's the sketch

Isn't this a fun sketch? It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with it and then I came across these Easter photos and decided to use little chicks and bunnies instead of butterflies. I cut them out with my Cricut in different sizes and colors to get the rainbow effect. Other than that the rest of this layout came together rather quickly.

Topsfield Fair

I've got a new  challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Route 66. Challenges will be based on the road trip, the destinations, and possibly even a challenge or two based on the song lyrics made famous by the song writer Bobby Troup in 1946. So join us as we Get Our Kicks on Route 66.

Along the way on Route 66 there is the Devil's Rope Museum in McLean, TX. So for my challenge I want you to use some "rope" on your layout. It can be twine, thread, string or even some ribbon.

Here's my example

I've used some twine wrapped around the top and bottom of my layout. The rest of the page came together quickly by adding some burlap behind the photo and then some stickers, dew drops and metallic leaf confetti.

Blue Angels Birthday Card

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. We have a new one each Monday and then on Wednesday we reveal all the DT memebers examples and announce the winners from the week before. I hope you stop by and play along with us.

Here's my take on the sketch

Here's the sketch

This card is for my husbands birthday and I thought it was perfect for the idea I had of using a photo of the Thunderbirds on the card. I used a navy blue base and then embossed a piece of white cardstock for the background. For the 3 strips, I inked them up using some Distress Oxide Inks and sprayed them with water. Then I cut the photo down to size and attached it over some jute string and added the Happy Birthday and black Nuvo Drops.
