Santa Card

We've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration and this month's theme is die cuts. This was perfect timing for me. I recently bought a couple of Christmas themed dies and one of the challenges in the mini crop was to use a Christmas die.

Isn't he just the cutest! After I die cut him I embossed it to give his beard some dimension and then inked over it with a light gray. I colored in his face using a combination of watercolor pencils and Spectrum Noir markers.

I hope you'll come join us and play along with one or several of our mini crop challenges.

Fairy Tales

Here's a card I made for 2 different challenges. One at Scrapping for Less using their February Flavor of the Month Card Kit and the other for Creative Inspiration where you had to make an anniversary card.

I just love this little stamp and really enjoyed coloring it in with my watercolor pencils. I die cut two stitched frames and angled them around the image, stamped the sentiment and then just fussy cut it out randomly. Inked all the edges and added some sequins and it's ready to go.

3rd Grade

I've got a sketch reveal up today over at Sketches in Thyme. I was digging through my stash of paper and found some old ones that I thought would be really fun to use. Plus we have a really fun sketch to work with this week. Here's what I came up with.

Here's the sketch

Everything on this layout has been in my stash for quite a while except for the title, which was cut with my Cricut, and the acrylic stars. I love it whenever I can use up some old stash!

I hope you'll stop by and check out all the different takes on our sketch this week and play along with us at Sketches in Thyme.

Easter Card

Just finished this Easter card and thought I'd share it with everyone! This card fits the bunny challenge going on over at the Creative with Stamps blog.

I started with an easter egg background and then took a piece of pink cardstock and used a flowered background stamp. I stamped it with Versamark Ink and then embossed it with silver and white embossing powder. Added the doilie, ribbons and die cut the bunny and bow. Love how it came out!

See Through Easter Card

I've got a challenge up today at Creative Inspiration. Today is All Sorts Saturday and I decided to make a See-Through Easter Card. I watched a video by Jennifer McGuire on it and thought I'd give it a try. She makes hers by using background dies. I don't have any of those so I cut my card with my Cricut.

I cut out 2 panels and glued the tops together after scoring the top panel so you can easily open the card. I then cut 4 circles for the sentiment. You need two for each panel. You need to add one on each side of the panels lining the two sentiment pieces up. That way you won't see the glue on the back of the sentiment pieces and you'll have a place to write on the inside of the card and a place to stamp made by on the back.

Cookies for Santa

I've got a scraplift challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. The page I lifted was found on Pinterest and can be seen here.

This was so easy, yet a bit time consuming. I just cut thin strips of several different papers and then wove them. The hardest part was gluing them down and keeping them straight. I didn't add any other embellishments since it was so busy and decided to anchor the page by mounting it all on a piece of black cardstock and then doing the title in black also.

Butterflies

Here's a card I worked on today. It's for a challenge going on over at Scrapping for Less. They have a sketch challenge every month and you can enter up to 3 projects.

And here's this month's sketch

This sketch has so many possibilities and I really enjoyed working with it. I started off using a
5 x 5 base card and added the yellow honeycomb paper. I cut out a hexagon and stamped, embossed and colored in the butterfly with Spectrum Noir markers. I then cut out 4 squares of the yellow dotted paper and backed them with black. The little acetate butterflies on top of each square were cut with my Cricut. I love how this card came out!
