Tropical Floral Card

I've got a pretty tropical card up on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog. It's that time of year here in Florida when all the tropical flowers and plants are in full bloom.

These are the two dies I used for die cutting. I'll have links towards the end of the post.

These are all the pieces I cut from the above dies except for the leaves. You can't find that die in the store but there are so many other just as pretty leafy dies to choose from in the store.

This is the die I used to emboss the pale green panel. I ran it through my embossing machine using a rubber mat so that the die wouldn't cut through the paper.

I started with a white card base and added a yellow panel, then the embossed pale green panel and the yellow circle die cut piece went on top. I assembled the flower, rolled the petals to give it some more dimension and popped it up also. I positioned the leaves around the flower and added some orange Stickles to the flower center.

Supplies Used:

Impression Obsession - Dies - Floral Background

Impression Obsession - Dies - Abstract Flowers

Memory Box - Dies - Large Ringlets

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome back  for another weekly card sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog. I've got a birthday themed card for you this week.

Here's this week's sketch

For the background, I used some watercolor paper and painted on different colors of Glimmer Mist. Once that dried, I added the strips of thin washi tape, stamped the birthday sentiment using my Tim Holtz stamp platform and misted a white flower with yellow Dylusions spray and added Nuvo Drops to the center of the flower and the 2 little stamped flowers at each end of the sentiment.

Parents Wedding Day

I've got a layout up today on the Sketches in Thyme Blog. We have a new sketch each week and each Design Team member reveals their take on it daily. This is a photo of my parents on their wedding day back in 1950. They look so happy and excited!

Here's this weeks sketch

I kept my layout pretty clean and simple because I didn't want to take away from this very special photo. When I was cleaning  out my parents house I ran across their wedding album and it was a disaster. The photos were all spotted and actually had water on them. I dried them off and left them in the sun for a few days and they turned out pretty good. I don't think I had ever seen their album before. I just wish they were still here to see what I've done with their wedding photos.

Spring Wreath Card

I've got a card sketch reveal up today at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog. A new card sketch goes up every Monday for you to play along with and then every Wednesday we show all the DT's projects.

Here's the sketch

I decided to go with a spring feel for this card using a couple of different dies to make the wreath. All the papers came from my scraps pile and I always like trying to use up my scraps.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog.

Crazy Outfits

I've got a multi photo challenge up today at our monthly mini crop over at Creative Inspiration.

I usually struggle using more than 1 or 2 photos on a layout but I didn't want to break up these silly photos. So I decided to challenge myself and I have to admit, I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Game Day

I've got a stash challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. I decided I needed to try and use some of my brads, eyelets, etc.

The papers are all from an old Fancypants Design collection and all the embellies were from my big stash of eyelets, brads and paperclips.

Easter Bunnies

I've got an Easter scene card up at the Dies R Us Blog today. Some dies are so versatile when it comes to designing scene cards and I love playing with them. I'll link the dies I used at the end of this post.

I started with a piece of white cardstock and sponged some Broken China Distress Oxide over it. I die cut the green hills using a Landscape Layers die from Impression Obsession and the flowers were cut using a Spring Sprig die from Lawn Fawn. The clouds were cut using white cardstock and a Puffy Clouds die from Memory Box and the rabbits were cut from brown cardstock and a Cottontail die from Tutti Designs.  I assembled the card and used pieces of a cotton ball for their tails, added the tufts of grass using a Spectrum Noir marker, and added some Nuvo Drops to the flower centers.

Products Used

Impression Obsession - Dies - Hill Landscape LayersT

Memory Box - Dies - Puffy Clouds

Tutti Designs - Dies - Cottontail

Lawn Fawn - Spring Sprig Dies

Easter Card

I've got an Easter Card up on the Dies R Us Blog today. I always struggle when it comes to making Easter Cards but these dies made it easy to come up with a pretty design.

This is a 5 1/2" square card because of the size of the die. The base of the card is a pale teal  color which I thought looked so pretty with the purple. I cut the tulip egg out of some printed paper and then backed it with some more of the purple paper and added a bow. Easy, simple and pretty!

Products Used

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Dies - Flowers Lace Frame

Tutti Designs - Dies - Tulip Egg
