Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

We've got a mini crop going on over at Cookin' Up Creations today in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. We've got some fun challenges and games going on so stop by and play along with us. Hope to see you there!

I have a color challenge for you. You must use at least 4 different colors other than white, black and brown/tan/kraft. In my example I have used 8 different colors.

I tried to use all the colors in the background of the photo and just laid strips of them down to form a circle. I cut the title out using the same colors and then added some bling to all the strips.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

We've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration in honor of NSD. My challenge for the crop is a recipe challenge. You must use twine or ribbon, more than 1 brad, washi tape and a punch.

To celebrate NSD, we've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration. Lots of fun challenges and games and you have til Sunday, May 13th to play along. My challenge is to make a layout with white space. It can be hard to do, at least for me. I love the look of them but I have a hard time leaving white space.....my layouts always look like something is missing to me. 

Here's my example

I started by stamping down the center of the page using several different stamps then added a few punched hexagons. I dug around in my stash and pulled out several different items like stickers, gems, fall leaves, chipboard buttons along some twine and raffia. It didn't look done to me so I had to add some black droplets. I'm pretty happy with it!

Mother's Day Card

It's National Scrapbook Day and we're celebrating with a mini crop at Creative Inspiration . I've got a challenge in the mini crop where you have to use some twine, ribbon or string on your project. I decided to make a Mother's Day card for my stepdaughter and decided to add some twine.

I used several different techniques on this card. The flowers were done using a stencil and ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder to make them shiny. I then used a different stencil and modeling paste for the design on the left side. Once the paste dried I applied some metallic gelatos using my finger to add a touch of color. Then I just stamped the sentiment, embossed it and added the butterfly and twine.
