Smoky Mountains

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is America the Beautiful and you can interpret that in so many ways. It can be something in nature that you think is beautiful or even a beautiful person. It can be a candid moment you caught on film. Just something that you think makes America beautiful.

These photos were taken on our vacation in the Smoky Mountains. I couldn't believe it when I saw what looks like smoke coming out of the vallleys. It was beautiful! Now I understand why they are called the Smoky Mountains.

I kept this simple so you could focus on the photos. The title is a laser die cut that I bought at a huge scrapbook store I found in the Smoky Mountain area. I typed up the journaling and then cut it into strips. Easy and quick layout!

You're the Zest

There's a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Challenges today. We have a new one every Monday and on Wednesday we announce the previous week's winner and reveal all the DT Members examples.

Here's my example

This card was made using Simple Stories Simple Vintage Lemon Twist papers, stickers and die cuts.     I love this collection and I guess I'm not alone since I heard they are re-releasing the collection.

Learning to skate

There's a new sketch up today at Sketches in Thyme. This week's sketch is by Laura Rumble and it is such a clean sketch. Stop by and play along with us!

Here's my example

This is my youngest granddaughter learning how to skate. Not sure she really mastered it but at least she tried.
All the papers are from an old paper stack called Ice Crystals by Craft Smith.. The mittens and skate are Glitter Chips by Tattered Angels and the cute little acrylic pieces are from Fawnies on Ninth at Etsy.

Outdoor Adventure

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is America the Beautiful and you can interpret that in so many ways. It can be something in nature that you think is beautiful or even a beautiful person. It can be a candid moment you caught on film. Just something that you think makes America beautiful.

I love taking photos of nature, especially trees. This one was taken on a trip to Chattanooga, TN. I don't know if these are trees or vines but I loved how they were all entangled.
I kept the layout kind of simple so that the photos would stand out. All the papers used were scraps except for the background paper which is very old. Even the wood leaves are several years old.

Birthday Card

We've got a new card challenge up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. We have a new one every Monday and on Wednesday we will announce the winner from the previous week and reveal all the DT members examples. I hope you'll come play along with us. This week's sketch is a pretty CAS card sketch.

Here's my example

I love how clean and simple this sketch is and that you can really dress it up. I used my two favorite colors on this one. The flowers were stamped, stenciled and die cut using a Pinkfresh Studios set. I love these sets since I'm not very good at coloring with markers. The stitched oval die cut is from Tutti Designs and the sentiment die cut is from Impression Obsession.
