Fall Favorites

This is another layout for the Got Talent Challenge at My Scraps & More. This was a tough one and I really had to think hard to come up with something! It was a list challenge and you had to come up with ten things about someone or something and the numbers themselves had to be the focal point of your layout. I finally decided to go with a list of all my favorite fall things. I sat down and just started writing. Before I knew it I had well over ten things on my list. So I just picked out my absolute favorite things and went with that.

I started with the July 15th sketch over at Sketch N Scrap and then the layout just kind of went in a different direction.  The numbers are copper colored metal and I popped some of them up to give everything more depth. I really like how it turned out.

Let's Roll!

I fell in love with this photo of my granddaughter, Brylie on this ride. She looks like she's having so much fun driving Fred Flintstones car!

I did this layout for the 7/24 Got Talent Mini Challenge over at My Scraps & More. The challenge was to have a lot of white/negative space on your layout. I don't do many pages with white/negative space on them so this was a bit of a challenge and I am really holding myself back from adding more to this one.

The 2 of Us

It's Monday so that means another Got Talent Challenge at My Scraps & More. This challenge requires you to use a selfie and everything on your layout had to be from your scrap pile. You couldn't cut a full piece of paper or open a new package of embellishments.

Everything on here is a scrap, even the blue cardstock wasn't a full sheet of paper. I also finished off a package of flowers! I know I've said it before but I love using up my scraps!

Oh Boy

This is a first for me! I have never done a little boy layout before. I have a (step) grandson but unfortunately we don't get to see him. It's a long story with lots of drama and even I don't really understand it all. It's very sad for my husband. Anyway, I won a bunch of little boy paper a couple of years ago and have hardly used any of it. I found several photos of Timmy recently and couldn't wait to scrap them.

This is for the Birthday Bash #9 challenge at Turtle Soup. You had to use bright colors on your layout. Perfect challenge for these Fancy Pants To The Moon papers.

It is also for the Got Talent 7/17 challenge at My Scraps & More. You had to use only one collection of papers and use at least 6 big embellishments from the same paper collection. I have so many embellishments from this collection it was hard to pick which ones to use.

I really had fun with this layout and can't wait to scrap some more photos of my grandson.

Birthday Card

Here's a Birthday Card for the month long 1st Birthday Bash at Turtle Soup. All month long we're having fun birthday/turtle themed challenges along with lots of fun games and of course prizes! For this Birthday card I used this cute photo of a turtle for the color inspiration.

And here's my card

I pulled all the different greens out of the photo and the yellow too. I cut the balloons out with my cricut and then drew the strings by hand.

So, if you're looking for a party, come join us over at Turtle Soup!

Mama & Me

Here's a layout of my stepdaughter and granddaughter at Sesame Place. Cadence wasn't too sure about this ride but as everyone knows, it's always better when mama holds your hand.

This is for the My Scraps & More Got Talent 6/14 Challenge. You had to use busy background paper, your title had to be a sentence and you had to use at least three different types of alphas. Busy paper always scares me. But using a tip from Missy at My Scraps & More, I decided to give it a try. She suggested you paint your busy paper with gesso to soften it up. I only used the gesso around the photo area and I was surprised at how much it seemed to calm down all the busyness of the background paper. Then I used some blue and green gelatos to define the photo area a little. I really like how it turned out and will definitely be using this technique again.

Stars and Stripes

Here's a birthday card I made for my brother's birthday. He loves airplanes and even works at the airport fueling planes so this little airplane stamp was perfect for his birthday card.

This fits several different challenges.

1. Turtle Soup Birthday Bash Challenge #4 where you had to make a masculine card using only scraps.

2. Cards In Envy Stars and Stripes challenge.

3. Sketch-N-Scrap Card Sketch #29.

I love combining challenges, it always makes me feel like I've accomplished a lot in just a short time!

1st Birthday

I have a challenge up at Turtle Soup today. Since we are celebrating our month long 1st Birthday Bash, I did a layout about my granddaughters 1st birthday. She turned 1 back in 2011! Guess I was holding on to these last two photos of her party specifically for this challenge!

I really had fun with this layout. The background paper is an old Heidi Swapp resist paper where you just rub some ink on it to bring out the design. And everything else on here is just as old. I bought the birthday stickers the year Brylie was born and then stuffed them in a folder when I was packing up my stash to move to Florida. I just found them last week! Sure am glad I still had these photos to scrap!

So come join us over at Turtle Soup for our Birthday Bash Celebration! There's lots of fun challenges and games going on all month! Hope to see you there!

Summer Fun

Here's a layout I did today for the Birthday Bash going on at Turtle Soup. You had to use your birthday as a recipe. I had to use 4 different patterned papers, a title, borders, 3 photos, distressing and ribbon/lace/trim. It was a lot of fun putting everything together.

This also fits today's Got Talent Mini Challenge at My Scraps & More. You had to go to the My Scraps & More Sketches Blog and pick a sketch and then rotate it. I chose sketch # 77 and turned it upside down.

This was a little tricky combining these two challenges but I really enjoyed it and am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Party

It's a new week so that means there's a new Got Talent Challenge at My Scraps & More. This challenge was, well, challenging.....you couldn't use any patterned paper.

I stamped all the 6's except for the solid blue one. The stars are all rub-ons and the stitching on the edges was done with my WRMK Sew Stamper. I love that thing!

This also fits the Birthday Bash Challenge #5 at Turtle Soup. You had to use numbers on your layout.

This is a photo of my granddaughter, Cadence. She doesn't look to happy but she's never been too fond of costumed characters. It was her 6th birthday and I know she was very excited about her party and had a wonderful time.

Selfies With Mom

Today is a Design Team Sketch Reveal day over at Turtle Soup. We're having a month long first birthday bash with lots of fun challenges and games. This month we're having two Design Team Sketch Reveals. Here's the sketch we had to work with for today.

And here is my take

I just bought  a new Martha Stewart punch around the page punch and had to try it out. I love how it looks and it was one of her easier ones to use. I made the rosette and topped it with a big pearl button then cut the two rings out on my cricut. For the title area, I took one of the circles from the rings I cut and then cut a rectangle out of it. It needed something more in that corner so I added the pieces I had cut off.

So if you like to party, come join us over at Turtle Soup for our birthday party. We're turning 1 this month!
Hope to see you there!

Cutest Little Apple Picker

And yet another one for the My Scraps & More Got Talent Challenges. You had to use red and green as your main colors and also punch holes in something on your layout.

I started with white cardstock and just flicked red and green mist on it and then used a stencil with red and green pens for the background. I was lucky enough to have a border punch to make the punched holes. I love how the red backing really makes the punched borders pop. The little apple basket was done with my cricut about a year ago. I never used it back then but couldn't throw it away and I'm glad I kept it. The little apples are all fussy cut and the tree is a sticker. I did the title on the computer. I just noticed the apple on the ground in the photo looks like one of the red dots but it isn't. It really is an apple in the photo.

Summertime Diva

Here's another layout for My Scraps & More Got Talent challenge. This was an easy challenge, all you had to do was use a doily on your layout.

I started with a white doily and just used yellow ink on it. The background paper is so old. It's from MME's Bohemia collection from 2006. It must have been one of the papers I bought when I just started scrapping. Everything else is from my scraps again.

Check Me Out

It's Friday so we've got another sketch reveal over at My Scraps & More Sketches. I really loved this weeks sketch but I struggled with my layout. I think it was the busy background paper. I can't remember when I last used such busy paper!

And here's sketch #86

I just recently found a lot of baby stickers and papers that I had packed away by themselves when I was packing for our move to Florida 3 years ago. So I've been pulling out some of the photos from when our granddaughters were born just to use up this stash. I thought I was finished scrapping their births, but I guess not!
