CUC Scraplift a Member

I just wanted to share a layout I did for  Cookin Up Creations Scraplift a Member challenge. I did a lift of the very talented Altered Diva. I loved the whimsical feel of her layout. Here's what I came up with.

Embossing

Today at Cookin Up Creations is Technique Tuesday and I chose embossing as today's technique. You can do either wet or dry embossing but I went with dry and used one of my Cuttlebug folders. You also had to use this wonderful sketch by Liz Chidester.

 

When I saw this sketch, I just had to emboss the diamond shapes. Here's what I came up with.

Productive Weekend for me!

Here it is Sunday evening already. This weekend went by way too fast but I did manage to get quite a bit of scrapping done. I got a couple of DT projects done that I can't reveal yet but I also got some things done for a couple of challenges.

This layout is for the Whats new Wednesday weekly challenge going on over at Cookin Up Creations. You had to use some wood veneer along with this daily sketch from Liz Chidester.


 

And here is my take. I used some wooden buttons because all my wood veneers are pretty girly and since this page is about my husband's retirement I didn't think that would go over too well.
