Here's a layout I did for one of the Mini Crop Challenges at Turtle Soup. These are my granddaughters and this is the 1st professional photo of the two of them. We have a bigger one framed on display in our living room but I still wanted to scrap it cause it's just so darn cute!
For this challenge you had to use only browns, blues and gold. Perfect colors for this photo. The papers are a mix of several different old collections but I thought they all seemed to work together.

Birthday Card
Today I'm sharing a card that really threw me for a loop. Our handyman was here doing some work for us and noticed my Cricut Explore and asked what it did. So I explained it to him and told him I make cards and scrapbook and my husband showed him a card I made. He was impressed and asked if I could make a card for his girlfriend's birthday. How could I say no! I asked what he was looking for and he said his girlfriend loves Harry Potter and sunflowers. Do those two even go together? Well, I was stumped but agreed to it anyway. Now, I know nothing at all about Harry Potter so I had to do some research. I spent about 3 -4 hours researching Harry Potter and my mind felt like mush. I was at a complete loss when I decided to try Pinterest and found the perfect card (I think).
Of course I had to change the design since I needed to incorporate some sunflowers. So I found these cute little sunflowers in Design Space and added the glittery centers and used them as icing on the cupcake. I used the print then cut feature on the Cricut Explore for the banner. The candle is a real one but I cut it in half so it wouldn't be so bulky.
And here's what the inside looks like:
I searched through all kinds of Harry Potter quotes and decided this was appropriate for a birthday sentiment.
So, all in all, I'm pretty happy with how this came out not to mention very relieved that it's finished. The real test comes tomorrow when Chris comes to pick it up. I sure hope he's happy with it!
And this also fits a challenge at the Turtle Soup Mini Crop. I didn't even plan it! Still several days left for the Mini Crop with lots of fun challenges. Hope you can join us!

Into the Maze
I've got a challenge up at the Mini Crop over at Turtle Soup. Our theme this month is color schemes. My challenge is to use soft, muted colors and add 1 bright color splash.
I pulled all my colors from the photos. I used the green and brown muted earth tones and red for my splash of bright color which I pulled from my granddaughters clothing.
We've got lots of fun challenges going on at our Mini Crop. I hope you'll stop by and play along!

Happy Birthday Card
Here's a card I made for two different challenges. Turtle Soup had a challenge to use at least 3 stamps that you had to stamp on top of each other. The second challenge was at Cards in Envy where you had to make a girly card.
It's kind of hard to see but the tag has a background stamp of handwriting in a tan color. I then colored the flower stamp with markers to get the orange and green colors and then stamped the sentiment on the bottom.
Happy Scrapping!

Fun Times
We've got a DT Sketch Reveal today at Turtle Soup. I love seeing all the different takes on one sketch. Please stop by and see all the other DT members layouts.
And here's the sketch:
I started out thinking this would be a Frozen layout but after working on a title for close to an hour, I realized the last photo had nothing to do with Frozen. By then I already had the photos and washi tape done so I just added some stars, quickly cut a new title and called it done.
