Purple Card

There is a DT card reveal at the Just Imagine Crafts blog today. This month's theme was anything goes so there will be a wide variety of different cards up today.

I used Kreaxions punch # 307 with no inserts to create the two border punches. I really like this punch a lot. I sprayed the white background with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Glitz Spritz and then placed the darker purple paper on top. It's hard to see here but it really gives it a pretty shimmer. Then added the white leaves and dark purple flower along with the twine. I think I can use this card for any occasion and can always stamp a sentiment on the purple paper.

Masculine Birthday Card

I've got a card up at the Just Imagine Crafts blog today. I needed a masculine birthday card for my brother and thought this punch was a great choice.

I used Kreaxions punch # 307 with the C insert  and star template to make the doily behind the tag. I used the same punch with no insert to make the border and then cut the top flowery part of the punch off to make it more masculine looking.
To make the tag, I coated a kraft cardstock tag with gesso and used a template and modeling paste mixed with some orange gelato  and copper glitter to create the stripes. Then stamped the car and added the gears and square tiles.

Ballet?

We've got a Mini Crop going on at Turtle Soup and this month's theme is color schemes. My challenge is to use pink and brown on your project.

I love pink and brown together and thought these photos were perfect for that color combination.
Please stop by Turtle Soup and check out all the different color scheme challenges we have going.

Mermaid Card

Here's a birthday card I made for my husband. He loves anything nautical so I decided to make a tag with a mixed media background for his card.

I started by applying gesso on the kraft cardstock tag and then sprayed it with water to remove several spots of gesso. Then I scribbled some blue and green gelatos over it and used water to blend the colors together. I stamped the mermaid and heat embossed it and then added some bubbles using modeling paste and glitter. I decided to color the mermaid with water color pencils to add some color. I cut the seaweed and coral out with my Cricut and sprayed them with some white color shine to give them some dimension and sparkle. I'm very happy with how it turned out and hubby was crazy about it.

This also fits the All Sorts Saturday 6/4 challenge to create a tag using mixed media at Turtle Soup. Please stop by and check out all the gorgeous tags we've created.

1st Communion

I've got a challenge up at Turtle Soup today. As you might have heard, we are celebrating our birthday and all challenges have a celebration theme. My theme is a new path in life, like a 1st Communion, Baptism, Birth, Wedding, Baby Shower, etc.

I started with a brown sheet of cardstock and placed the lacy punched edge paper on top. I then used a script stamp and randomly stamped around the page in a light brown ink. I added the brown and peach colored mats behind the photo and punched the bottom of the brown mat. Added the leaves that I die cut with my Cuttlebug along with the flowers. The title was cut on my Cricut and I double punched the butterflies using brown paper on the bottom and for the tops I used gold and white foil paper.

I hope you'll stop by and join us in our month long celebration. We have lots of fun challenges and games going on and we also have some amazing prizes. Hope to see you there!

Hostess Gift

I was invited to a dessert party and the first thing that popped into my mind was should I bring something. So I asked the hostess and she said not a thing. Then I got to thinking.....maybe I should bring a hostess gift. Do people still do that? I asked around and got conflicting answers so I decided to take a gift. I don't know the lady very well but I know she likes to cook and garden. So I bought a small pot of herbs and then decided to dress it up a bit.

I wrapped it in burlap and tied it with some twine. Folded down the corner and added some flowers with a small pop of bling. Then I made a flag with the herb's name. Very easy and it hardly cost anything! And the best part.....she loved it! I also noticed that there was only 1 other person that brought a hostess gift.

Graduation Time

I've got a card up today at the Just Imagine Crafts Blog. It's a graduation card for my granddaughter. She's graduating fro Pre-K and even gets to wear a cap and gown. My, how times have changed!

I used Kreaxions punch ##11 with the C insert to punch all the corners and then added a bit of bling to the center of each punched area. The image was cut using my Cricut with the Paper Dolls cartridge. I used chalk to enhance the skin color, cheeks and shoes.

I have to say this image looks just like my granddaughter!

Love

We've got a DT reveal going on today at Turtle Soup. Please stop by and see all the other DT members take on the sketch.

And here's the sketch

I have been wanting to scrap this photo with this journaling for a while and I thought this was the perfect sketch for it. I love that my stepdaughter overheard their conversation and posted it on Facebook. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly what photo it would go with. I love this so much. It brings tears to my eyes every time I read this.
