How To Make Pretty Glittered Tags

I've got a project up at the ScraPerfect today on how to make quick and easy glittered tags.

I was wanting to use something gold on a layout I was making and really hated to cut into my one last piece of gold paper. Then I remembered how good the Best Glue Ever worked with glitter. So I grabbed a couple of plain white tags, my gold glitter and the Best Glue Ever. 

I spread some of the Best Glue Ever around on just part of the tags since I wasn't going to use the whole tag. 

I then spread the glue around with my finger being sure to get it all over.

Then I sprinkled on the glitter, shook off the excess and let them dry.

While they were drying I cleaned up my mess using some of the Best Cleaner Ever on my work mat. It worked great and cleaned up the excess gluey mess I had made. Then of course, I had glitter all over the place so I grabbed the Perfect Cleaning Cloth and was able to wipe up all the excess glitter.

Seaside

We've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration. One of this month's themes is vacations which is what my project is about. My challenge is to use vacation photos along with something unusual on your project. I've used some real seashells I found on the beach along with some netting from lemons and a ham.

So Grateful For Fall Fun With The Family

I'm up on the ScraPerfect Blog today with a cute fall page that doesn't use the regular fall colors. I love fall and all the seasonal colors but decided to pull the colors out of the photo for this page using the different shades of pink. But of course I still had to add in a little bit of orange!

I played around with some new watercolors for the background and couldn't believe how they matched the flowers in the photo so well. Then I just punched some hexagons and placed them around the photo and popped several of them up for dimension. The letters were  cut with my Cricut and I used some of the Best Glue Ever to adhere them to the page. I just love how the glue stays tacky long enough for you to place the letters exactly where you want them.

I also used some of the Best Glue Ever to attach some old wooden dot embellishments that I've had in my stash for many years. They are so old that the sticky backs of them don't really stick to anything anymore. So Best Glue Ever to the rescue!

This was a quick and easy page but I really had fun with it!

Rockport

Here's a couple of older photos of my stepdaughter and granddaughters who go to Rockport, MA every summer. This layout is for 2 different challenges. One for the mini crop going on at Creative Inspiration and also for the July 1st sketch at Sketch-N-Scrap.  I used papers from an old DCWV paper stack that I've had forever. They work perfectly for these photos.

A Cute Kindergarten Graduation Card Makes A Good Point!

I've got a card up over at the ScraPerfect Blog today with a graduation card for my youngest granddaughter who just graduated from Kindergarten.

To make the pencil I started with a plain old popsicle stick.

I used an exacto knife to cut one end into a point and then just painted it to look like a pencil. Then I wondered what to use to attach it to the card. Silly me! Of course I would use some of the Best Glue Ever. It held perfectly!  This glue seems to work on everything! I can't imagine scrapping without it!

How To Scrap Colorful Photos

I've got a very colorful layout up at the ScraPerfect Blog today. These two photos had a lot of bright colors in them and kind of intimidated me. I wasn't sure what colors to pull from the photos so I decided to try them all.

I started with a plain white piece of cardstock and picked out a stencil and several different ink pads. I just randomly sponged ink on the stencil moving it around the paper. I also did some random stamping using black ink around the page and added some navy blue splatters.

I added the photos and then dug through my stash for some embellishments. I finally settled on a few word stickers and some wood veneer that I inked. And of course I used some of the Best Glue Ever for the wood veneer. It really holds so well and you can use so little so it's very economical. Then using my Cricut I cut the title and used more of the Best Glue Ever  along with the No Clog Writing Cap . Using that cap makes it so easy to adhere skinny little letters to your layout. You can get the tiniest drop of glue on those letters so it won't seep out the side and if it does it dries clear so you don't have to worry about it. I also added some washi tape to the top and bottom corners of the page. 

I was worried the background might be too busy for the photos but I think I like how it came out.

Riding the Carousel

I've got a challenge up today over at Creative Inspiration. It's All Sorts Saturday today so my challenge is to add some doodling to your layout along with some journaling.

I added some doodling all around the edge of my page and then broke up the journaling into 3 little bits around the page. The background was done by painting on a layer of white gesso and then using water color paints on top of the gesso. Once that dried I added some dimension using a stencil and modeling paste. I also added some round and square little mirrors around the photos. It's hard to see them as they don't photograph well at all.

Cheerleader

I've got a layout up at Sketches in Thyme today. We had a great sketch to work with and here's what I came up with.

This came together quickly once I decided what photos to use. These are my granddaughters who were both cheerleaders but only the oldest made it to competition . Their colors were blue and gold so that made choosing the papers easy. I decided to go with several different shades and patterns of blue papers and the one single shade of gold paper. Then just added some layers behind the photos and added the cheerleader stickers. Easy Peasy!

How to Make Chinese Lanterns Sparkle With Glitter

I've got a card up on the ScraPerfect Blog today with a quick and easy way to add some sparkle to your embellishments. I know it's hard to see in the photo but the tops and bottoms of the lanterns have glitter added to them.

To start I fussy cut several lanterns from some patterned paper.

They were kind of dull looking so I grabbed some black glitter and some of the Best Glue Ever.  I spread some of the glue on the tops and bottoms of the lanterns and then sprinkled on some black glitter. 

That really seemed to dress them up and add a bit of dimension.

I also used the Best Glue Ever to attach the gold string to the backs of the lanterns and then to the back of the green paper. It held perfectly!

I hope you'll give this a try! It's so easy and quickly makes your embellishments look totally different! And if you use the No Clog Writing Cap you can add some sparkle to the tiniest embellishments.
