How To Decorate A Pretty Travel Journal

I've got a fun little project up at the ScraPerfect blog today that will help you keep your vacation keepsakes organized. Whenever we go on vacation, I always keep ticket stubs, receipts and brochures that I think I might use when I get around to scrapping the photos. I usually just stuff them in my purse or suitcase and they get wrinkled and sometimes even lost. Or I can't even remember what they were for. So, I decided to make a Travel Journal to take along with me.

I won this Brag Book several years ago and couldn't figure out what to do with it. It came with journaling pages, 2 slot photo sleeves and pocket pages. Sounds perfect for a Travel Journal, right?
It had a blank cover so I definitely had to decorate it. I dug through my stash and found all these travel themed embellishments that would be perfect for a Travel Journal.

Now, I wanted to be sure all these embellishments were adhered strongly to the cover, so of course I grabbed my bottle of the Best Glue Ever along with the No Clog Writing Tip. Some of those embellishments were very tiny and needed just a thin line of glue so the No Clog Writing Tip came in very handy. And here's another tip.....the get out there embellishment is a clear piece of plastic and naturally you don't want any glue to show through so I applied some of the Best Glue Ever behind the letters and let it get tacky before sticking it down on the paper. That way it wouldn't squish outside of the letters and show through.

Here's another look at the final project

I plan on sitting down every evening and organize my keepsakes and writing about what we saw and did that day. That way everything will be in one place when I get around to scrapping our vacations.

How To Make Pretty Glittered Tags

I've got a project up at the ScraPerfect today on how to make quick and easy glittered tags.

I was wanting to use something gold on a layout I was making and really hated to cut into my one last piece of gold paper. Then I remembered how good the Best Glue Ever worked with glitter. So I grabbed a couple of plain white tags, my gold glitter and the Best Glue Ever

I spread some of the Best Glue Ever around on just part of the tags since I wasn't going to use the whole tag.

I then spread the glue around with my finger being sure to get it all over.

Then I sprinkled on the glitter, shook off the excess and let them dry.

While they were drying I cleaned up my mess using some of the Best Cleaner Ever on my work mat. It worked great and cleaned up the excess gluey mess I had made. Then of course, I had glitter all over the place so I grabbed the Perfect Cleaning Cloth and was able to wipe up all the excess glitter.

Here's another photo of my finished tags on my perfectly clean work mat!

I hope this gives you some ideas on ways to add some sparkle to your embellishments.

Seaside

We've got a mini crop going on over at Creative Inspiration. One of this month's themes is vacations which is what my project is about. My challenge is to use vacation photos along with something unusual on your project. I've used some real seashells I found on the beach along with some netting from lemons and a ham.

Please stop by Creative Inspiration to check out our mini crop. There are several different themes and lots of fun challenges and of course a prize. You have all week to play along. Hope to see you there!

Cheerleading Competition

I've got a layout up at the Sketches In Thyme Blog today. The sketch we're working with this week was so much fun!

And here's the sketch we had to work with

I loved working with this sketch! It's so much fun working with lots of layers like on this sketch. I always dig into my scraps when I need layers and it always makes me happy to use up so many of them like I did here.

I hope you'll stop by the blog and see all the different takes on this weeks sketch by the DT. And of course I hope you'll play along with our sketches!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a scrappy day!

So Grateful For Fall Fun With The Family

I'm up on the ScraPerfect Blog today with a cute fall page that doesn't use the regular fall colors. I love fall and all the seasonal colors but decided to pull the colors out of the photo for this page using the different shades of pink. But of course I still had to add in a little bit of orange!

I played around with some new watercolors for the background and couldn't believe how they matched the flowers in the photo so well. Then I just punched some hexagons and placed them around the photo and popped several of them up for dimension. The letters were  cut with my Cricut and I used some of the Best Glue Ever to adhere them to the page. I just love how the glue stays tacky long enough for you to place the letters exactly where you want them.

I also used some of the Best Glue Ever to attach some old wooden dot embellishments that I've had in my stash for many years. They are so old that the sticky backs of them don't really stick to anything anymore. So Best Glue Ever to the rescue!

This was a quick and easy page but I really had fun with it!
