Let's Celebrate

Here's a card I made today for the Cards in Envy challenge. Your card has to be mostly gray. This sounded like a real challenge and I wasn't sure I could pull it off. But, I gave it a try and this is what I came up with.

I started out with a white card and added some teal cardstock and then the gray tile paper. The Let's Celebrate oval is a piece of gray cardstock and I used Weathered Wood Distress Ink for the gray stars. I really like the teal with the gray.

This also fits a challenge in the January Mini Crop at Turtle Soup. For that challenge your project had to have the word celebrate on it.

Hope everyone gets to have some scrappy time over the weekend!

Christmas Hugs

Here's a Christmas layout I did of my two granddaughters, Cadence and Brylie. Everything on the layout is from Simple Stories Cozy Christmas collection. I just love that line! And the sketch I used is sketch #72 from Sketch N Scrap.

This also fits the Hug Challenge for the Jan. Mini Crop at Turtle Soup. When I saw that challenge I knew this was the perfect photo for it!

Happy scrapping!

A Book a Night

It's time for another sketch reveal at My Scraps & More Sketches. We had a wonderful sketch from Heather Leopard to work with today.

And here's the sketch:

I used some old American Crafts Christmas paper that I've had for quite a few years. The little scene with the title on it is an embossing folder that I ran through my Cuttlebug using some Whitewash Core'dinations paper and then sanded it to bring out the scene. It's hard to see but on the stocking paper I added Diamond Stickles to the tops of the stockings and on the string of lights paper I also added stickles to each light bulb.

So if you'd like to work with some great sketches come on over to My Scraps & More Sketches and play along with us!

Drippy Birthday Card

Today I've got a Technique challenge up at Turtle Soup.  I chose a technique using Gelatos that I've been wanting to try for a while now. I found this video by Donna Downey on Youtube and she made it look so easy that I decided to give it a try.

I coated my cardstock with Gesso, then scribbled and blended 3 different pink Gelatos across the top, spritzed it with water and watched the magic happen. I couldn't believe how easy it was not to mention fun and messy! I sprinkled some table salt on the drips to get all the little dots on some of the drips. Then I added the flowers and leaf which I recycled from an old store bought birthday card. The butterfly is from a Marthat Stewart punch and then I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday. I love how this came out and now want to try this technique on a layout.

So come on over to Turtle Soup and play along with us!

Valentine Card

Well, I decided to get a jump start on my Valentine Cards. I know Valentine's Day will be here before I know it! I wanted to do a couple of the card challenges at Turtle Soup and they had a Step Card challenge. I love making these cards but rarely do it.

I cut out the tree, grass and banners on my Cricut and then embossed the white background on my Cuttlebug. The little punches were from a tiny little punch.

Now onto my next Valentine card. I only make about 5 cards for Valentine's Day and this was a good start since it'll go to one of my granddaughters. I always have a hard time making cards for little kids!

Sisters

Today I have a Scraplift a Member challenge up at Turtle Soup.  The layout I chose was by our member PaulJ and I really liked her busy background and the punched edges of her banners. Here's my lift:

I used Fancy Pants True Friend collection along with some wooden stars that I inked. If you'd like to see the original layout by PaulaJ, please stop by Turtle Soup and play along with us.

Hope to see you there!

Easter 2014

It's Friday so that means we have another sketch up at My Scraps & More Sketches! Here's the layout I came up with using sketch #97. I used The Sweetest Thing collection from MME. It's a couple of years old but I thought it was perfect for an Easter layout.

And here's the sketch:

The bunny was cut on my Cricut and all the other embellies I've had in my stash for years.

Please come join us and see what the other Design Team members came up with!
