Halloween Card

Here's a Halloween card I made using up some of my Halloween paper scraps.

The sentiments and  images are all stamps that were heat embossed to make them really stand out.

World Card Making Day Challenge

We've got a World Card Making Day mini crop going on at Creative Inspiration through Oct. 7th. My challenge is to make a card using some stamps.

I've used a sheet music stamp for the background and then a layered tree stamp set. Love how the layers bring out dimension on the trees.
Hope you'll stop by and check out our challenges for World Card Making Day!

Washi Tape Switch Plates

I played along with a TTT challenge over at Creative Inspiration that had you use Washi Tape in an unusual way. I loved what Joan had done so I decided to do the same. I took a couple of switch plates off my scraproom walls and covered them with washi tape that coordinates with the colors of my scraproom.

What a great way to dress up your walls! I love how they came out and now I'm eyeing several other switch plates in the house.

Mermaids

I've got a layout up at the Sketches In Thyme Blog today. We have a great sketch to play with this week. These are photos of my granddaughters in the pool on their 1st trip to Disney World. We had been at the park all day and then they wanted to go swimming. It was in December and it was a bit chilly and the water was just so cold, but they didn't want to get out. We had to bribe them with dinner at McDonalds.

And here's the sketch for this week

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us at Sketches In Time. We have some great sketches for you.  Hope to see you there!

New Home

I've got a challenge up at Creative Inspiration today. It's a scraplift challenge and I ended up keeping pretty much true to the layout I chose to lift.

I used watercolors for the background and all the papers are from my scrap pile. The embellishments are a mixture of different collections.

I hope you'll come join us at Creative Inspiration and play along with some of our challenges.

How To Decorate A Pretty Travel Journal

I've got a fun little project up at the ScraPerfect blog today that will help you keep your vacation keepsakes organized. Whenever we go on vacation, I always keep ticket stubs, receipts and brochures that I think I might use when I get around to scrapping the photos. I usually just stuff them in my purse or suitcase and they get wrinkled and sometimes even lost. Or I can't even remember what they were for. So, I decided to make a Travel Journal to take along with me.

I won this Brag Book several years ago and couldn't figure out what to do with it. It came with journaling pages, 2 slot photo sleeves and pocket pages. Sounds perfect for a Travel Journal, right?
It had a blank cover so I definitely had to decorate it. I dug through my stash and found all these travel themed embellishments that would be perfect for a Travel Journal.

Now, I wanted to be sure all these embellishments were adhered strongly to the cover, so of course I grabbed my bottle of the Best Glue Ever along with the No Clog Writing Tip. Some of those embellishments were very tiny and needed just a thin line of glue so the No Clog Writing Tip came in very handy. And here's another tip.....the get out there embellishment is a clear piece of plastic and naturally you don't want any glue to show through so I applied some of the Best Glue Ever behind the letters and let it get tacky before sticking it down on the paper. That way it wouldn't squish outside of the letters and show through.

Here's another look at the final project

I plan on sitting down every evening and organize my keepsakes and writing about what we saw and did that day. That way everything will be in one place when I get around to scrapping our vacations.
