Remember

It's Monday so that means we have a new sketch challenge up over at Cookin' Up Creations. Our theme this month is Show Me The Love and we are continuing with our January theme of using up our stash. So my challenge is to use the sketch by Brenshevia from the Sketches in Thyme Blog along with some older washi tape.

Here's my layout

Here's Brenshevia's sketch

I love this sketch and really enjoyed working with it.

I hope you'll stop by Cookin' Up Creations and play along with us!

Happy Scrapping!

Congrats

We've got a new card sketch up today over at Atlantic Hearts Sketches. I needed a wedding card for my brother but it couldn't be too frou frou. They're not having a big wedding or reception and they don't even want any gifts. So this is what I came up with...hope they like it.

Here's sketch #354

Happy New Year 2018

We've got a mini-crop going on over at Creative Inspiration. This month's theme is Out with the Old in with the New, New Years, Winter Wonderland, (Holiday) Celebrations, Year in Review, Resolutions, Family. I decided to go with a New Years Celebration.

I started with a piece of black cardstock and using a fireworks stencil I sponged over it with some gold and pink ink. The gold kind of shimmers and adds some sparkle. I matted the photo with several layers and then cut the title out of pink and gold glitter paper.

I hope you'll come play along with us at Creative Inspiration. We've got lots of fun challenges
 going on this month.

Venetian Gardens

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Out With the Old - Make Room for the New. It's actually been fun going through my stash and pulling out old items from my stash. For this challenge I decided to use up some old embellishments.

The old embellishments I used here are the washi tape, wooden cutouts, sequins, and even some gold glitter. Even the little bit of printed paper is from an old American Crafts collection. Even the packages were fussy cut from that collection.

I hope you'll stop by and play along with us. Who knows, you may even win a prize!

Changing Seasons

We've got some fun challenges going on over at Cookin' Up Creations. Our theme this month is Out with the Old to make room for the new. In other words Use Up Your Stash! One of the challenges is to use fabric on your project and I decided to play along with it.

The brown and orange with the arrows on it along the bottom is some leftover fabric I've had laying around for years. I also used up some papers and stickers from an old Echo Park collection.

Doodling

I've got a challenge up on Creative Inspiration. Today is Technique Tuesday and I decided to go with an old tried and true technique. I doodled on my layout! I haven't done that in years!

I'd love to see your doodling. Come play along with us at Creative Inspiration.

Hang On!

We've got a new sketch challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme for this month is Out with the Old - Make Room for the New.  So let's use up some of our stash.....if you're like me you have quite a big stash!

Here's the sketch that I found on Pinterest

The background paper on my layout is from 2004 and everything else is from my scrap pile. The flowers are probably about 10 years old and the title stickers are some of the first stickers I bought when I started scrapping back in 2006.

It always feels good to use up some old stash!

AHSC #350

We've got another card sketch up today at Atlantic Hearts Sketches Challenge Blog. I tried a new technique on my card and I love how it came out.

Here's the sketch

I saw this technique on a Jennifer McGuire video using stamps, heat embossing and an iron.
I first made the background using some Distress Oxides and then stamped the silhouette flowers and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. Then I placed a piece of plain white copy paper over the flowers and then a folded towel on top. Then using an iron, turned on high with no water, I ironed over the flowers. That removes the melted embossing powder and gives it a smooth crackled look. Unfortunately you can't really see it in the photo but it looks so nice!
