A Perfect Autumn Day

I've got a challenge up today in the Turtle Soup April Mini Crop. The theme this month is to use up your stash and my challenge is to use your stash of bling.

I didn't use very much bling but I did finish up a sheet of pearls. The papers are from an Echo Park collection (I think). For the background I used a stencil with some modeling paste and then swiped some ink on some packaging film, mixed in a couple drops of water and smooshed it on top. Then stamped a few flowers, added some layers and my photo.

Please come join us at Turtle Soup for our Mini Crop. Lots of fun challenges and you'll use up some of your stash if you play along! Hope to see you there!

Spring is in the Air

It's spring time and that means flowers are blooming and butterflies are flying. I decided to bring it all together in this card that I have up on the Just Imagine Crafts blog today.

I did a faux letterpress for the background and then a blue color wash using watercolor pencils with a water brush. I added the burlap/twine ribbon and used Kreaxions punch #920 to punch the green and white strips. Then added the butterfly, twine and flower. Please stop by and check out our blog.

Bride and Groom

Today at Scrapping Turtle we have a DT sketch reveal challenge. Please stop by and play along with us and see all the different takes on the fabulous sketch we had to work with.

Here is the sketch

I love this sketch and it was perfect for one of my parents wedding photos. I found their wedding album while cleaning out their house. I had never seen it before and unfortunately it was in sad shape. The plastic on top of the photos had deteriorated and pieces were stuck to the photos. We spent hours trying to get the plastic off.  Anyway, this is a pretty simple page but I wanted the focus to be on the photo.

St. Patrick's Day Card

We've got a DT Reveal up today at the Just Imagine Crafts Blog. The theme was all things green. Perfect for St. Patty's Day.

For this card I started with a green background and punched the edge using Kreaxions punch #920. Then I stamped the swirlys with Versamark ink and embossed them (for some reason they look black in the photo). I stamped and embossed the shamrocks with black ink and mounted them on gold and white paper and popped them up on the card. It seemed like too much green so I added the orange twine.

Please stop by our blog and check out all the other cards in our DT reveal.

Acetate Easter Card

Here's another Easter card for one of my granddaughters.

I have such a hard time making Easter cards for kids so I was very happy when I found these little felt chicks. The polka dot paper is really clear acetate with pink polka dots. I love how it looks on this card. The rest of the paper was from my scrap pile. Using the acetate makes it hard to photograph. No matter what I tried I got a reflection. Oh well!!!

Happy Scrapping!

Easter Card

I've got an Easter card up today on the Just Imagine Crafts blog. Isn't that little bunny so cute!

The doily was made using Kreaxions punch #920 with insert A and the star stencil. To punch the decorative corners I again used Kreaxions punch #920 with insert C.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello

I've got a Sunday Card sketch challenge up today at Turtle Soup. We're having a March Sketchathon this month so please stop by and check out all the awesome card and layout sketches.

Here's today's sketch

And here's my take on it

I really had fun with this. I spread a light coat of gesso on the background paper to lighten it up, then mixed texture paste with some orange gelato and used a stencil to apply it. After it dried, I sprayed some white color shine on to give it a bit of sparkle and then distressed the edges. Added some washi tape, twine and a hello sticker.

So, if you like sketches please stop by Turtle Soup and play along!

Butterfly Hello

I've got a card up today on the Just Imagine Crafts blog.

I used Kreaxions punch # 920 with insert C to make the decorative corners. To make the doily I used the star stencil and Kreaxions punch #920 with insert A and then cut it in half. I then used the negative star pieces along the top and bottom. I stamped and embossed the sentiment and added the punched butterflies. All these papers came from an old Mariposa paper stack I've had for ages. I like it but always forget I have it.

My last Valentine card!

Here's my last card for Valentine's Day this year. This was for my granddaughter.....we have called her a little monkey for many years. I'm sure she'll get a kick out of it. This is also for the DT Reveal over at the Just Imagine Crafts blog. The theme is all things love and red.

I used Kreaxions punch #917 to punch the hearts out along the side. I cut the tree with my Cricut and added leftover hearts, from the same punch used on another card, as leaves. I found the monkey stickers at Hobby Lobby.
Hope you can stop by the blog and see all the other DT's cards.
