Lazy Hazy Crazy Days

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Under the Sea  meaning all challenges will be water themed. So come play along with us! Did I mention there is a prize to be won and who doesn't like winning!

I started with a bright blue background and used a splat stencil and some white ink to make the background. The splats reminded me of the spray from the waves. I then used some papers from an old Authentique collection called Felicity and tore the edges. The torn edges reminded me of the waves crashing on the beach. To finish it off I added some stickers from the same collection.

Zelda

There's a new sketch challenge up at Sketches in Thyme. This weeks sketch is by Bev Code and it is just really fun and cute. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us.

Here's the sketch

This is my oldest granddaughter carving her pumpkin and the 2nd photo is her creation. It's the logo for the Legend of Zelda video game. She did a really great job with it.
I startd with an orange and black plaid paper and then cut down a piece of black cardstock and then distressed the edges. I matted the photos in bright orange to make them stand out on the black cardstock. The flowers have been in my stash for years and the leaves were all cut from an MFT die set called Leafy Greenery. Then I just added some black Nuvo Drops to the flower centers.

Friendship Card

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Heart Sketches today. We have a new sketch every Monday and on Wednesday we announce the top 3 winners from the previous week. I hope you can come join us.

Here's my card

Here's the sketch

When I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for my new Sweet Friend Floral stamp, stencil and die set from Pinkfresh. I am just loving these layered stencils. They are so easy to use and you really can't mess them up! I used some Distress Oxide inks with the stencils. I have found they work the best, they don't seem to bleed through the stencil like pigment inks do. The sentiment tag was cut on my Cricut.

BRRR

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is Under the Sea. Each challenge will revolve around the ocean, a lake, a boat....anything that has to do with water. Come play along with us and you just might win a $20 gift certificate to your favorite scrappy store.

For my challenge you will need to use a blue background to represent the water theme and the added twist is use a big title. I also thought it would be nice to use some elements that might represent movement so I added some clouds, sunbeams and feathers.

I needed a card for my granddaughter and this sketch worked out perfectly. I found the heart on Cricut Design Space and just knew she would get a big kick out of it. The whole card was made from scraps which always makes me happy!

Thinking of You Card

We've got a new card sketch up today at Atlantic Hearts Sketches. We have a new sketch every Monday and on Wednesday, we show all the Dt members examples and pick the top three winners from the previous week. Come join us!

Here's the sketch

I started by brushing on 3 different colors of Distress Oxide ink for the background. Then using some stamps from MFT, I stamped the images in black and added the sentiment. Pretty easy card but it took me all day to get the stamping the way I liked it.

Disney

We've got a new sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. This week's sketch is by Jenessa Franco. I loved this sketch as soon as I saw it!

Here's the sketch

I got to use up a lot of scraps on this layout, actually, everything on here is from my scrap pile! Then just added all the embellies and it was done. Quick and easy but looks like a lot of work here.

NYE 2018

I've got a new challenge up today at Cookin' Up Creations. This month's theme is Just Like Grandma Used to Make. We will be taking actual cooking recipes and turning them into layout recipes by taking each recipe and coming up with a scrappy item to represent each ingredient. Sounds like fun, right?

This recipe is from a dear Aunt of mine. She always made these at Christmas. They are delicious! Each challenge will have the full recipe in it so you can try out the recipe and make a layout from it. If you want to see what my "scrappy ingredients" are you can stop by the forum here to check it out.

Apple Picking

I've got a new challenge up today at Cookin' Up Creations. This month's theme is Just Like Grandma Used to Make. We will be taking actual cooking recipes and turning them into layout recipes by taking each recipe and coming up with a scrappy item to represent each ingredient. Sounds like fun, right?

My layout is based on a recipe from my mother called Tortilla Roll Ups. I haven't had this in years so I just might have to make it one night soon. Each challenge will have the full recipe in it so you can try out the recipe and make a layout from it. Llama Love

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. We have a new sketch every Monday and on Wednesday we reveal the DT members examples and announce the top 3 winners from the week before. This week's card sketch is for a slim-line card. I'm really starting to like the slim-line cards since you can get so much more on the card.

Here's the sketch

I have had these llama stamps and dies by Recollections for the longest time and as soon as I saw this sketch I knew I had to use them. That plus I needed a birthday card for a good friend who is crazy about llamas. The tickled pink sentiment is from an MFT stamp set and it just went perfectly with the pink llamas. The patterned paper is from a Paper Studio stack.
