Create Art

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is our Birthday Bash Celebration, celebrating our 5th anniversary. Challenges will be based on the Birthday Theme, but not necessarily on the specific birthday. It can be the day itself, the person, the gifts, food, games, new life in general (spring)/newness. I hope you can join us and play along. Who knows....you could win a $20.00 gift certificate to one of your favorite scrappy stores

This is my granddaughters Birthday Painting Party. She is becoming quite the little artist so it was no surprise she wanted a painting party. The background is from Vicki Boutin's Let's Wander collection and everthing else is just left over pieces from sticker collections and chipboard pieces. I used a punch for the black strips along the top and bottom and then just added some Nuvo Drops in several different colors to tie them into the painting party theme.

Cookin' Up Creations Cybercrop

It's our birthday over at  Cookin' Up Creations  and we are celebrating with a Birthday Cybercrop Party on the weekend of March, 18-20 with challenges and games.  Should be a lot of fun!  I hope you'll come party along with us!

My challenge is to make a Birthday Card

I was looking for a different kind of card for a friends 50th birthday and found this design by Jennifer McGuire and thought it would be perfect to really make a statement. Here's the link to her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjt2clftZpw. It was so quick and easy to make. You don't have to make this kind of card but it must be a birthday card.

Hello Fall

We've got a new sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. Our sketch this week is by Rochelle Spears and it is super cute. I really had fun with it! I hope you'll stop by and play along with us....you never know, you just might win a prize!

Here's the sketch

The papers are from the Celebrate Autumn collection by Lori Whitlock and Echo Park. The circle around the photo was done with some copper Nuvo Drops. The tag is an old one from Tim Holtz and the title was cut on my Cricut. I really like how this page turned out.

Shake Your Cotton Tail

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. We have a new one every Monday and on Wednesday we announce the previous weeks' winners and reveal all the DT Members examples of the new sketch. I decided to start on my Easter Cards and this sketch was perfect.

Here's the sketch

I found this sentiment on Creative Fabrica and thought it was so cute and would be perfect for my youngest granddaughter's Easter Card. I can see here shaking her little butt when she gets this.

Wish Big

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is our Birthday Bash Celebration, celebrating our 5th anniversary. Challenges will be based on the Birthday Theme, but not necessarily on the specific birthday. It can be the day itself, the person, the gifts, food, games, new life in general (spring)/newness. I hope you can join us and play along. Who knows....you could win a $20.00 gift certificate to one of your favorite scrappy stores.

My granddaughter is a budding artist and wanted a painting party for her birthday. I thought the background paper was perfect for the layout. It's from Vicki Boutin's Let's Wander collection. Everything else was just leftovers pulled from my stash.

Big Birthday Wish

There's a new card sketch up today at Atlantic Hearts Sketches. We have a new one every Monday and on Wednesday we announce the top 3 winners from the week before as well as revealing all the DT members examples. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us. This week's card is a slim line card.

Here's the sketch

I first die cut all the little flags out. The placed them on the card and glued them down and then added the twine along the tops of them. That seemed to work pretty well. The cupcakes are a piece of washi tape and the sentiment is from MFT's Itty Bitty Birthday sentiments.

Lazy Hazy Crazy Days

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Under the Sea  meaning all challenges will be water themed. So come play along with us! Did I mention there is a prize to be won and who doesn't like winning!

I started with a bright blue background and used a splat stencil and some white ink to make the background. The splats reminded me of the spray from the waves. I then used some papers from an old Authentique collection called Felicity and tore the edges. The torn edges reminded me of the waves crashing on the beach. To finish it off I added some stickers from the same collection.

Zelda

There's a new sketch challenge up at Sketches in Thyme. This weeks sketch is by Bev Code and it is just really fun and cute. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us.

Here's the sketch

This is my oldest granddaughter carving her pumpkin and the 2nd photo is her creation. It's the logo for the Legend of Zelda video game. She did a really great job with it.
I startd with an orange and black plaid paper and then cut down a piece of black cardstock and then distressed the edges. I matted the photos in bright orange to make them stand out on the black cardstock. The flowers have been in my stash for years and the leaves were all cut from an MFT die set called Leafy Greenery. Then I just added some black Nuvo Drops to the flower centers.

Friendship Card

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Heart Sketches today. We have a new sketch every Monday and on Wednesday we announce the top 3 winners from the previous week. I hope you can come join us.

Here's my card

Here's the sketch

When I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for my new Sweet Friend Floral stamp, stencil and die set from Pinkfresh. I am just loving these layered stencils. They are so easy to use and you really can't mess them up! I used some Distress Oxide inks with the stencils. I have found they work the best, they don't seem to bleed through the stencil like pigment inks do. The sentiment tag was cut on my Cricut.

BRRR

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is Under the Sea. Each challenge will revolve around the ocean, a lake, a boat....anything that has to do with water. Come play along with us and you just might win a $20 gift certificate to your favorite scrappy store.

For my challenge you will need to use a blue background to represent the water theme and the added twist is use a big title. I also thought it would be nice to use some elements that might represent movement so I added some clouds, sunbeams and feathers.
