Hamilton Birthday

We have a new cut file challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations. We've partnered with the Cut Shoppe to bring you a monthly exclusive cut file challenge.  The winner will receive a gift certificate for $5.00 to the Cut Shoppe...that's worth 5 free cut files! The Cut Shoppe has some great cut files to choose from and they cut so cleanly too. Below is my example for this month's cut file challenge.

This layout is about my granddaughter's 10th birthday. She is a big fan of the musical Hamilton and right now her favorite Disney character is Stitch.

I hope you'll come join us and play along with our cut file challenge!

Magical Birthday

We've got a new challenge up today at Cookin' Up Creations. March is our birthday month so we're throwing a Birthday Bash this month! Challenges will be based on the "Birthday Theme"...but not necessarily on the "specific birthday"...the day itself, the person, the gifts, food, games, new life in general (Spring)/Newness.....the possibilities are limitless......

I chose to go with the basic birthday theme. This is my granddaughter who turned 13 during the Coronavirus Pandemic. I was looking for some birthday papers and found an old birthday card kit in my stash. It was perfect so I used up just about the whole kit. I have no idea where any of the papers or stickers came from but they work well together.

Easter Slimline Card

We've got a new card sketch up today at Atlantic Hearts Sketches. We have a new sketch every Monday and on Wednesdays we reveal all the DT members examples and announce the winners from the week before. I love this sketch and thought it would be perfect for a slimline Easter Card. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us!

Here's the sketch

This whole card was made using my Cricut. Once I cut the basket I embossed it and then swiped some Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it. The easter eggs were stamped with Versamark Ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. The Happy Easter was cut 3 times and then glued together. The bunny was the easiest....just cut and glue down.
I just love the slimline cards. You can really get a lot on them!

1st Grade

We've got a new sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. We have a new one every week and we'd love for you to come play along with us.

Here is my take on this weeks sketch. I decided to turn it on it's side.

Here's the sketch

I don't scrap many 5x7 photos so this sketch threw me at first. Then I remembered I had some school pics of my granddaughters but of course they were portraits and not landscapes so I decided to turn the sketch to make it work. The schoolhouse, Back 2 School and title were all cut with my Cricut and I was able to use up some scraps too.

Fall Colors

I've got a new challenge up over at Cookin' Up Creations today.  Our theme this month is Scooby Doo, Where are You? So for my challenge I used a photo from a trip to West Virginia for the Where are You part and The Scooby Doo twist is to use the 60’s colors you see in the characters clothes...like harvest gold, burnt orange and avocado green. Remember those?

I started with a tan piece of cardstock and added the splats using some Lindy's Gang Starburst and then inked around the edges with som Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide. Then matted the photo with all the colors and popped it up using some corrugated green paper. The die cuts were all pieced together and again I used some Lindy's Gang Starburst and sprays in Cocoa Bean to give them a fall look.

Hollywood Studios

I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. Our theme this month is Scooby Doo, Where are You? So for my challenge I used a photo from a trip to Disney World for the Where are You part and the twist is to use a group photo. The twist comes from always seeing group photos of all the Scooby Doo characters.

So come join us all month long in February as we challenge YOU to complete layouts about "Places You've Been" focusing on the "where" ...with a Scooby Doo & Gang Twist!

Valentine Card

We've got a new card sketch up at Atlantic Hearts Sketches today. This week's sketch is perfect for a Valentine's Day card.

Here's the sketch

I started with a cream colored card base and then used a script stamp with Versamark ink for the red background. The tag was cut from the same cardstock as the base and I added a heart embossed piece on top and punched a small bow. The die cut is from the Photoplay Be Mine Collection and then I added some gold glitter Nuvo Drops.

What A Bunch of Characters

I've got a new challenge up today over at Cookin' Up Creations. This month's theme is Out with the Old and In with the New. It's time to use up your stash and make room for some new stash. I know we've all got a ton of old stash and here's your chance to use some of it up!

The papers I used are from my scrap pile. I've been working on organizing my huge collection of sequins so I thought this would be a perfect time to use some of them. It only put a very small dent in them but I still feel good about using some of them.
