Yappy Easter

 We've got a new card sketch challenge up today at Atlantic Hearts Sketches. Every Monday we have a new card sketch and on Wednesday we reveal all the DT members examples and announce the top 3 winners from the previous week.

Here's the sketch

I made the striped background by brushing on Distress Oxides using a very old stencil. Some of the lines bled a little but I kinda liked the effect so I decided to keep it. The image was cut with my Cricut and the grass was cut using a die. The sentiment on the inside of the card says Yappy Easter. Sorry there's no photo of it....I sent it before I remembered to take a pic.

Today

 I've got a new challenge up today at Cookin' Up Creations. This month's theme is all about celebrating our 6th anniversary. Challenges will be based on the "Birthday Theme"....but not necessarily about birthdays - so, don't worry if you don't have any birthday pictures as the possibilities are limitless...as there'll be challenges for everyone.

My challenge takes you back to when you were a kid. I'm betting that you were really looking forward to the cake, the presents and the games. So I "translated" those 3 things into scrapping lingo.

You will need to pick 1 from each category and use it on your layout.

America the Beautiful

 I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month we are celebrating the sixth Anniversary of Cookin' Up Creations. All challenges will be based on the birthday theme. Not to worry though, you don't need to use birthday photos.

My challenge is celebrating the birthday of your country. You'll need to use the colors of your country along with some punches.  Since I'm in the USA, I used red, white and blue. I stenciled the background with some fireworks. I also punched some red and white and blue and white papers with a scalloped edge punch. Then I dug through my sticker stash and found some very old stickers that went well with this layout.

Going to Epcot

 We've got a new sketch up at Sketches in Thyme today. This is such a fun sketch by Rochelle Spears!

As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for a Disney page. Everything on this page is Disney themed. I have soooo much Disney paper and ephemera! I cut out the 4 quarters of the circle using my Cricut. Then just added the banners, washi tape and ephemera.

Valentine's Day Card

Here's this week's sketch

I started with some watercolor paper and painted the red and pink squares using watercolor paints. Then added the black frame that I cut on the Cricut. The heart balloons were die cut from some old scraps of Valentine papers and all the die cuts: the balloons, rectangle and sentiment strip are from MFT dies.  The stamp is very old, from the $1 bins that Michaels used to have.

I made a promise to myself that I would start making Christmas cards throughout the year so I wouldn't be so stressed about making them during the holidays. So this was a perfect sketch to get me started.

I followed the sketch pretty closely but I just had to add a sentiment. I stamped the tree in several shades of Distress Oxides and added some sparkle and snow to it. I embossed the background with a snowfall embossing folder and added a couple of stitched hills of snow.  

So proud of myself for getting my 1st Christmas card made fro 2023!

Snow Fun

 I've got a new sketch challenge up today at Sketches in Thyme on Facebook. This is really a fun sketch and I loved digging through my stash for all the different snowflakes I used. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us.

I really had fun with this sketch. Once I found the photos I decided to use snowflakes for the embellishment cluster down the side of the page. I dug through my stash and found all kinds of snowflakes like die cuts, punches, acrylic pieces and glittered ones. I also found some snowflake washi tape that I thought would work well on the layout. The title was cut with my Cricut.

Say What!

 I've got a new challenge up today over at Cookin' Up Creations. Our theme this month is Alice in Wonderland. There will be some interesting challenges this month! Come play along with us!

These are my two granddaughters. We were at Disney waiting in line for some ride and I'm guessing looking at the wait times for other rides they wanted to go on. I wish I could remember more but I love the looks on their faces. 

So I started with a bright yellow background and then dug into all my Disney papers (I have so much) and cut out different sizes of circles along with the title on my Cricut.  Then I decided to doodle around the title offset and a little on the photo frame. This was a quick and easy layout.

I decided to turn this sketch into a Valentine's Day card. The papers are from  a Photo Play collection called Be Mine. I used an MFT stitch and scallop edge die for the lighter paper and then cut out the hearts with my Cricut. The bigger banner was cut with a die from Impression Obsession and the smaller one is from an MFT die. The little hearts are from Michaels.

Bee's Knees

 I've got a new challenge up at Cookin' Up Creations today. This month's theme is Alice in Wonderland and all the challenges will be based on that movie. My challenge is based on the Queen of Hearts character. All you need to do is use hearts on your layout. I hope you'll stop by and play along with us. 

This is my youngest granddaughter getting her hair cut for the start of the new school year. I may be a bit partial but I think she has beautiful hair.

I started with a light blue background and cut all the hearts out on my Cricut. Then just dug through my stash and added the stars, dots, sentiments, flowers and banners along the bottom.
